I think ND has pretty good control of this one. Granted I didn't get back from the BSU game until it was 21-21 but since then the Irish have looked good.

BSU beats Akron 23-17! INT in the end zone on 4th and goal with under 2 mins clinches it for the Cards, who are now .500 in the MAC after 6 games for the first time since who knows when.

You skipped ND-Tennessee for Ball State football? I hate to question your loyalty, but...c'mon man!

It wasn't an easy decision, but in the end I decided that ND was good enough that I need not worry about them.

Also, I skipped the BSU/Toledo game in October for the ND/USC game (obviously not a bad decision) and it turned out to be the first BSU home game of my time here that wasn't either a Cardinals win or a really good game, so my superstitions played a role. I took the ND football shirt that I traditionally wear on ND football Saturdays to the game and had it over my shoulder the whole time, so you know my superstitions are king.

Mizzou is killing themselves again, just like last week. A bowl game keeps slipping further and further away from us...

I'm still miffed to how you can call roughing the kicker when he lands on a defender, but not call a personal foul when Smith gets thrown into the kicker's net when he's already several yards out of bounds. Mizzou's defense is terrible enough without giving CU more downs and more times with the ball.

I'm stunned.

And I'm going to leave it at that.

that was a great comeback. NU still has a mathematical chance at the Big 10 but they need a lot of help to get it. But nonetheless, that was a great game and a big win for the Cats.

I can't stress enough just how horrible the offense has been the past two games. The o-line was bad and Basanez had easily his worst game of the season. Those interceptions were...yuck. Downright terrible overall. But for whatever reason, the defense in both games gave up very little in the 2nd half. NU was given an absurd number of chances by the defense and by Iowa's offense (and a few key penalties).

But if they play like this at Ohio State, they'll lose by about 40. A share of the Big Ten title is a hundred to one shot at this point.

Tommy Z TD!!!!!! INT!!!! Game ball!!!!

I think the fact that this is the most points scored against Tenn this year says a lot when you look at the other teams Tenn has played.

Words fail me about the difference between this team and the 2004 team. 27 offensive points for the Irish today and, as Tom and Pat noted, it seems like the Irish have been "slow" offensively. If ND can routinely score 27 offensive points on a "slow" day, then teams will be hard-pressed to beat ND at all next season, which is why I said after the SC game that ND won't lose again till 2007.

I just don't like to get ahead of myself. I have said it before, but ND is notorious for messing up games, just like every other freaking team I like.

That being said, it seems like a ND/PSU Fiesta Bowl is becoming very possible. That would be a hell of a game

Is it weird that I like to make Wookiee noises when similarly pronounced backup QB David Wolke enters the game for the Irish?

Don't answer that... :D

And that should do it. 38-12. Too many shots to the foot on offense, nonexistent defense, poor special teams, and bad breaks on penalties. Not much has gone right. Hopefully Senior Day next week will be the week we get that bowl eligibility.

I'm weird, just leave it at that. :D

For the first time since ND/Wash and BSU/WMU in Sept 2004, both the Irish and the Cards win in the same day. Hopefully we'll see it happen again next week!

Now it's time for the Bulls game. What a day!

40-15, KU.

Forgive the continual updates RE: a game no one cares about. This doesn't happen every day. (Not since 1968).

I care. I love hearing Nebraska lost.

Me too. Who gets canned first Callahan or Fran. for A&M. A&M final 3 games are against Tech, Oklahoma, and Texas, currently with a 5-3 record.

I'm heading over to a buddies house who is a VT alum. He gets very emotional and when VT loses it gets very awkward (sp?). Its one of those moments where I have to remind him it is just a game, and then I fear for my life. Anyway go VT. And I believe ND may hit that #12 spot in the BCS this week.

BCS #5 UCLA is down 14-0. #9 FSU down 7 with less than 2:00 to go. #12 Wisconsin was blown out. #13 Oregon is tied with a good Cal team in the 4th quarter. #6 Miami could very well lose to #3 Va Tech tonight. We're on our way up, for sure.

If Oregon loses, ND has it.

UCLA now down 21-0 according to ESPN.com!

Raisin is not happy right now...

But I am sure he will be when UCLA makes another miraculous comeback. As they just said on ESPN, UCLA has then right where they want them.

NC State 20, BCS #9 Florida State 15!

ONWARD AND UPWARD IRISH!

Oregon doesn't matter now. That should move them up 2 spots. As long as ND can beat Syracuse, Navy, and Stanford they should be in a BCS game!!!
