This is a good idea, by the time I have a job and am working on my Masters in Chicago, I'll have season tickets.

I am on the Cubs waiting list, but I doubt I will be one of the lucky ones to be able to buy a pair. Is there any way to gauge how close you are on the list?

As of now, I am looking into buying season tickets from elsewhere. EBay only has 2 seats together, while I am looking for 4. Anyone know of any broker sites, or actual places I can go to "score" some? :P

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

I'm not sure if they have seasons, but http://www.goldcoasttickets.com always has reasonable prices, and the best thing is they have an office right by Wrigley so you can order your tickets and pick them up at the office when you go to the game. I think you should call them and make sure they sent them to that office though, because they also have on in the loop.

I doubt 100 section seats would really be available when you do get the chance. Plus, they'd be quite expensive. Your best bet might be decent and unobstructed terrace reserve seats slightly out of the infield.

I wonder if the Cubs are going to start offering more season tickets in the bleachers.

How does the process work? When one current season ticket holder decides to not renew his package, does the next person in line get a call and is offered those exact seats? Or do other current season ticket holders get the opportunity to upgrade their tickets? Lastly, if and when you're offered tickets, if you're offered tickets in a section that you don't want, are you allowed to turn them down and wait for the next available seats or is it those seats or nothing?

WHen the season ticket renewal goes out to current season ticket holdrs, they are asked if they want to upgrade/move their seats (with the disclaimer that it is based on availability). So current season ticket holders have the 1st shot to upgrade. After all that is done, THEN any new season tickets may be sold to new people. Thats why we as season ticket holders have to be paid in full in January and the Cubs do not open up new season ticket sales until sometime in February.

Did they offer you the chance to upgrade after the 2004 season? I'm almost positive they said I couldn't because of the crazy demand for season tickets. You've had your seats a lot longer than I have, though, right? My first season was 2000. That could be the reason why.

They did offer, but said availability was very limited. Maybe it was because I've had my tickets since 84. My buddy who sits next to me became a season ticket holder in 88 and he got the offer too. We didn't move, but we were offered the opportunity.

Thanks. I doubt I would've moved if offered the chance either.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would want to invest so much money in season tickets after the Cubs' past two seasons.

Maybe because they've been Cubs fans for more than 20 years and a couple bad endings to seasons aren't gonna disgust them so much they throw away very valuable things?

BTW, where are your seats and could I possibly buy some on days you won't be going?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but is it any different for businesses? I know lots of Chicago firms have great seats (i'm not talking luxury boxes) and some of those firms haven't been around forever.
