  1. What section are you in? (Bleachers, OF Box, etc). They handed out a half sheet of paper with each price per game based on whether the game is marquee, silver, platinum, etc. I happened to keep it, so let me know what section you're in and I'll type it in.
  2. Given what Ray Lewis has, uh, "gotten away with" in the past, I'm guessing this one won't stain his reputation much. (nor will it stain that missing white suit, but I digress.)
  3. Hadn't thought about people leaning over. Good point. :banghead: Worst case scenario is I move it back a bit next season, or finally make the move to lower level. Cheers, friends!
  4. I'll be here for the season - Section 433, Row 2, Seats 103-104. I had a chance at Row 1, but from that angle, the rail was perfectly in line with the pitch path (unless Randy Johnson was pitching to Manute Bol [God rest his soul]). We'll be using these a few times a month (as we moved to Cincinnati the DAY AFTER we got these tickets back in December 2011). Should anyone ever need 2, look me up! Or for those in the area, come visit when we're there to toast an overpriced plastic cup.
  5. uh... hmm Ok then. Source: http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2011/12/26/2662249/cubs-rumors-chicago-nearing-deal-with-jason-jaramillo
  6. I'm all for giving Quade the benefit of the doubt to start the year but good God, what's he doing to Jeff Stevens right now?! This pitch count is insane!
  7. Wait, wait, Toyota? Really? Let's put up a Tiger Woods sign instead...or AIG? I guess I'll go ahead and make the obvious joke, stating that the Cubs should put the brakes on the Toyota plans.
  8. Can anyone with a better sense of long-term memory help me out with this? Which pitchers under Dusty's regimes (SF, Cubs, Reds) have had TJS or equivalent major surgeries? I remember pulling my hair out over pitcher abuse during his tenure, but am curious of names. Thanks in advance! BP
  9. My bad, didn't get my message edited in time. My point being, I'm NOW living in Chicago. Wonder if, for instance, blocking a Chicago IP address range from getting into the VWR could be their method of blocking local ticket brokers? These are the arcane things that can go through your mind as you watch windows refresh for 2 hours. :)
  10. As I sit and watch my 116 tabs refresh over and over for 100+ minutes, I'm trying to figure out why some get in multiple times and others can't get in once. I'm wondering if it's some sort of selective IP thing. Of all those reporting multiple successes, by chance do any of you have Chicago addresses? For four years prior, living in Indy, I was able to get my max 42 tickets within 20-30 minutes. This year, now living in Chicago, zero luck thus far. Where geographically are you all located?
  11. On 1/4/07 I was 7048. Today I'm 6983, moving up all of 65 places in that time. If I remember right, I got on the list somewhere in '05 or '06. I'm on the "when I retire" plan too, but anytime before then would be ideal. Questions on season tickets, as I don't know how it works: About how many of the 39K-ish seats are season ticket holders? And does anyone know a rough guess as to where the sections line up for season tickets? I always found it strange when I could get a single game ticket through the regular ticket methods and be 10-15 rows back from the dugout but then hear about season ticket holders being up in the balcony. Is there any rhyme or reason to where season tickets are located?
  12. I'm just praying no bones are broken in the clubhouse: Hey Z: [-X
  13. IBT (in before trade) Agree with the above poster - I just wanted to be part of the ridiculous thread this has been throughout the off-season.
  14. Call me a boring old traditionalist, but give me pinstripes at home, give me road grey - I even prefer no names, but my only real opinion is this. Please, for the love of God, NO MORE BLUES. The batting practice look 3 out of every 5 games (based on pitcher preferences) just doesn't seem like classic baseball to me. Seems like one more bit of lazy Baker coaching where every tiny preference the players want from their coach, they get. Beyond that, seems like a shameless ploy to sell more jerseys by introducing something "new" every few years (put the names on, take the names off, change the text on the roads, add red to the bill, take red off the bill, etc). If we're going blue, let's do it on Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4, etc. A TRUE alternate. While I'm giving unasked for opinions, how about 4 or 5 "Throw Back the Clock" nights with old, classic looks? That'll sell some merchandise, and I'll be first in line.
  15. Great sig pic Derwood. I'm late to the Truckers' party, but loving it. Saw Jason Isbell a few weekends ago and it was outstanding.
  16. I personally think the best thing about baseball on TBS is that we get to see Craig Sager's suits every game. Amazing to think about what that guy's closet looks like. http://www.perrystudios.net/images/sager.jpg http://i.usatoday.net/sports/_photos/2007/05/17/sagerx.jpg
  17. I figure the Pirates would trade Nady for Bobby Hill and Jose Hernandez... then maybe they'd throw in Kenny Lofton as well... oh, wait a second...
  18. http://star.walagata.com/w/orual/bonds2.JPG You ma'am, are awesome. Could that sign not also apply to Sammy's approach of 600 though? Not that I wasn't the biggest of Sammy fans, but in hindsight...
  19. May not be THAT long if we keep stinking. I signed up just after the '05 season and I'm currently number 7048. I'm banking on having good seats in time for my dream lakehouse and sail boat of a retirement... which is probably a good 40 years away. And whenever my spot comes up, it'll me, weekend tix, and eBay until then.
  20. Need I gripe once again about the blue alternates? It seems the right thread to do it... I find myself cheering for the rookie pitchers who came up last year who went with the stripes and against those who want to wear blue. As for Z, he can wear pink for all I care. Whatever keeps him tossing gems.
  21. Anytime the Phillies were in town, I LOVED hearing Harry talk about "Jim Eiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisenreiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiich" The Rey Sanchez call was an absolute classic. And the banter back and forth from Harry to Arnie anytime they'd show a bikini-clad lady in the bleachers. hahah hilarious.
  22. Curious: Does anyone know the steps along the way of the last 26 years that takes him from a JV football coach to GM of the Cubs? This isn't at all yet another post saying, "SEE HE'S UNQUALIFIED." This is me asking how a regular guy breaks into a dream job over the span of a couple decades.
  23. It's been exactly 10 years since Razor was my personal hitting coach. A guy who grew up in my hometown and played college ball at IU had a hitting camp here in Indianapolis and Razor was one of his instructors. He's probably the biggest baseball star in Indy strictly because of his tenure with our AAA club (9 years, are you KIDDING me?). I honestly had lost track of him before seeing he was a AAA manager earlier this year when Charlotte played the Indy Indians. Honestly, I wasn't overly impressed with him as a coach, but what did I as a 15 year old kid know at the time? If he's successful in a successful organization (god it hurts to call them successful) then it's worth a shot. While he didn't make me a major leaguer, it might have taken a miracle from above to do so. Here's to Razor! And, as a Hoosier fan, if there's the possibility of seeing both Mike Davis AND Dusty Baker lose their job within 4 months of each other, I might just consider 2006 to be a HUGE success.
  24. Dang, I'll be in the bleachers... looks like I better bring my glove.
