I voted TJ

Take TJ out of the lineup and have Cedric Benson start, Bears have one win at most.

Keep TJ, but make that defense average and the Bears would be lucky to win one game too.

Comparing TJ to the whole D, the defense wins out. Compare TJ to an individual Bear defender (say Urlacher) and TJ would be the team MVP.

Bears might have won the lions and vikings games with benson. remember, the defense gave the O the ball on the 2 and 3 yard lines in the vikings game, and caused what, 6 turnovers against the lions?

If you're talking individual players, it has to be TJ, although the D is pretty damn good too. Lovie's "no fat guys" philosophy on D has worked much better than I thought it would. Everyone is quick and they swarm to the ball and they don't wear down.

If it was for individual MVP then it's TJ hands down. However if you were going to ask what's been more important in gettting to 7-3 Defense or the running game, I'd have to go D.

Switch the team's defenses and Carolina wins, probably by a large margin.

Switch Thomas Jones with Stephen Davis and Chicago still wins.

Answer = defense.

"Now boys I gotta question for you. Who would win in a fight? A hurricane...or a certain Coach Ditka?"

"Ummm...what's the name of the hurricane?"

"It's a trick question. The hurricane's name is Ditka!"

Bill Swerski: Now, gentlemen, let me ask you this: What if Da Bears were all 14 inches tall, you know, about so high? Now, what's your score of today's game?

Carl Wollarski: Against Da Giants?

Bill Swerski: Yes, give 'em a handicap.

Carl Wollarski: Bears 18, Giants 10. And that would finally be a good game.

Pat Arnold: Yeah, it would be a good game. Mini Bears 24, Giants 14.

Todd O'Conner: What about Ditka? Would he be mini, too?

Bill Swerski: No, he would be full-grown.

Todd O'Conner: Oh, then, uh.. Mini Bears 31, Giants 7.

Carl Wollarski: Oh, hold on. Then I change mine, too. I thought it was Mini Ditka.

The defense without question. Adrian Peterson showed last week that they can still have a good running game even with Jones injured (I attribute some of that credit to the offensive line). Without the defense, however, they'd be toast. The offense is better than I think most of us expected to be, but it isn't at a championship level. The defense is.
