uh-oh....guzman = patterson??

The collectors need to watch their timing. Cubs pitcher Angel Guzman was sitting in the stands behind home plate to chart the Mesa pitchers on Saturday night and was constantly interrupted by fans seeking his signature on a ball or a card.

"I know they want our autograph, but can't they wait until we're finished?" said Guzman, who had to put down the radar gun to handle the fans' requests. "I didn't know it would be this way."

release him.

Oh geez. He's a cancer. Get him out of here. I bet he makes young kids cry too.

Yes, I got that, but I just wanted you to know that Guzman is extremely outgoing and gregarious. Just in case you've never seen him clowning around a minor league dugout.

When Vazquez was at his peak with the Expos, his stuff was significantly better.

Significantly better than it is now, not significantly better than Guzman's.

Right, Tim?

Correct. Though Vazquez was a pretty darned good pitcher before the work caught up to him.

Remember that Prior vs. Vazquez matchup from 2003? Incredible.

Or he is just in the process of rehabing and doesn't want to throw his hardest. I think it is way to early to say that he is damaged goods.

I highly doubt that. 91-93 is where he was when he pitched in a spring training game after having his surgery.

craig[/url]"]Guy at Guzman game the other day said he was awesome, hit 97 with his 4-seamer, was consistently 93 zone with 2-seamer, threw all four pitches, threw strikes strikes strikes, and said that the six hits were three infield hits and three bloops. Said he looked fantastic.

Craig posted that on 10/8, in regards to Guzman's first AFL game. I'm much more concerned about his lack of throwing all four pitches since that start, I hope those pitches come back to their pre-injury form.
