FWIW, 91-93 the Braves were in the NL West, and in 1993, they beat out the Giants who won like 103 games, so it's not just the NL East. And when the divisions were realigned, you had the Marlins in 1997 who were scary good, the Mets in 1998 who were good, in 1999 the Mets won the w.c and went to the W.S., right?

Then in 2003 the Marlins were good.

While the NL East hasn't been the AL East, it isn't always a cupcake division. There have been good teams in the division. Cox and Shuerholz have done a phenomenal job. Winning that many divisional titles in a row is unheard of, regardless of the division.

Regardless of the division, regardless of the sport.

I can't really think of a domination approaching it. Maybe UCLA dominating college hoops back in Wooden's coaching days.

Unless BK secretly plays for the Mexican National Team, it probably won't work.

And I'll tackle him spikes up next time he bashes the world's game :P

Yep. I love the raised knee in traffic... very effective at creating space.

My personal fave is the leg whip to turn around so you can "see where the shot went".

Kind of pertinent.

When I was a freshman, one of our seniors who went on to play college soccer had a unique way of heading the ball. He would always know where the ref was and bring both hands up, clenched in a fist. While shielding the ref, he would punch the ball with the hand on the far side of his body, while making it look like he headed it.

He always got away with it. Don't ask me how.

I really need to go home and scan that before and after of me taking some kid out. Memories, memories.

While discussing soccer, has anyone seen a flip throw-in before. I kid on my HS team did it and it was amazing. He would get a running start flip over by placing the ball on the ground and then come up throwing the ball. Any throw-in within the 18 we treated like a corner kick. It was amazing. He could throw it across the width of the field. Every time he did it, the opposing coaches would throw a huge fit but it was legal because both feet were on the ground. Maybe it more common than I think, but in my 15 years of playing/reffing soccer he was the only person I ever saw do it. I tried a few times but always fell on my head.

Also I take it a few here used to be/are keepers. That is what I played back in my soccer days.

I played against a kid in middle school who did a flip throw in, he was real good at it.

One kid on our HS team my age could just rear back and throw the ball half way across the field. He wasn't a real big guy, but he played Tennis which probably helped. Every throw in from about 30 yards in there was a set play for. Once he threw a ball into the goal far post from about 35 yards away, on the fly.

Here he is about to unleash one:

I once saw Van Nisteelroy(sp?) try that, didn't work and got a yellow for it I think.
