If Baker wanted defense why the heck didn't he put Cedeno at 2nd?

Nice job Dempster!!!

I think Ronny's out for a few days at least with his hand.

Why? or how?

He got hit yesterday in the hand with a pitch, and left an inning later. X-rays were inconclusive, and he's getting checked out again tomorrow.

HBP yesterday... second inning, IIRC. tried to play defense but had to come out. Xrays inconclusive but there might be a fracture.

Philly opens against the Braves and the Astros and Marlins open a series. There's ground to be made in the WC as long as we take care of business

Ten years ago, a Cubs team given up for dead made an inspiring late season charge

It's hard to win when you have two managers working against you. Nice work fellas.

Actually Felipe was working for us. He put LaTroy in.

Wow...another game that was a lot closer than it should have been.

Stay tuned next week for another exciting installment of....Dusty Baseball!

Will Murton EVER see the end of a game?

Why is Corey Patterson still playing?

How badly can a lineup be created?

Why would Todd Walker bunt?

When will we next be graced by Patterson's grimace after an absurdly bad swing?

Good things happen when the Cubs are in California:

The Cubs are 8-2 in CA

NSBB got a shout out while the Cubs were in CA

Len agreed to do a Q & A while in CA

<---lives in California! :P

So the game was very fun. For those who have yet to attend a game in SBC, I highly reccomend it. Excellent field with many highlights. The foos was excellent as well but unfortuantely WAY overpriced. $8 for a beer is ridiculous.

The game was a fun game to watch. Again, the mental errors are gettingold but the end was hard to argue with. For what its worth, Hill was up twice during the game, but after the lead he was replaced by Ohman. What was also funny about Hill was that he was getting the rookie treatment. After the game he was left in the dugout to get all the equipment back to locker room. This made for some nice conversation with some of the fans that dawlded (like me). I told him that I would have preferred him to start today and wished him luck in the rotation next year. He smiled and said that he hoped I was right. Nice guy.

All, in all a fun game to attend and a good series for us believers. By the way, I listened to the Giants pregame shows and they interviewed Cubs personnel with Pat Hughes being one of them. He impressed me even more then on one of the Cub broadcasts. Intellignet and insightful responses and excellent out of town insight. Dusty was the main topic because of the SF connection and he made mention of several members of the press agreeing with most here on the site about Dusty.

Good Times.
