Another good outing for Williams. Wouldn't mind him back as the 5th starter next year. Sure hope Maddux either accepts a trade or retires. Can probably get just as much production from Williams @ a much lower cost next year.

I thougt Williams was going to be in the rotation regardless...Prior, Wood, Z, Maddux and Williams. I didn't think Williams' position was contingent on what Maddux does.

If no free agents are brought in and Maddux, Prior, Wood and Zambrano are already in the rotation, I hope Williams competes with Guzman, Hill, Mitre and maybe some darkhorse young pitcher for the 5th spot (such as Marshall, Nolasco or Pinto).

why do you hit your egular 2 hole hitter(walker) down in the order against a righty so neifi can hit 2nd?it's not like we need to protect burnitz! i mean is anyone going to pitch around burnitz...
