Worthless stats of the day for Friday.....

 

CUBS are 9-11 on Fridays

CUBS are 8-3 vs. Pittsburgh

CUBS are 31-31 at night.

CUBS are 30-34 on the road.

CUBS are 20-22 in games that open a series

CUBS are 6-4 in games openning a road trip

CUBS are 20-13 when Derrek Lee hits at least 1 HR.... 42-57 when he doesn't

CUBS are 28-19 when their pitchers' get at least 1 hit.... 35-51 when they don't

Does anybody have a countdown going to when the Cubs will officially be eliminated from playoff contention?

 

The current E numbers (Number of CUBS losses/1st place teams wins needed to eliminate the Cubs) are (and current leader):

 

Division (Cards): 8 (Cubs lose 8, Cards win 8, Cubs lose 4, Cards win 4, could be done in 4 games)

 

Wild Card (Phillies): 21
