Hey, Fred, what is Nomar batting since coming back from the DL? He must be well above .300, right?

J Wilson grounded an IF single to short

McLouth, pinch hitting for Torres, grounded an IF single to second

Sanchez singled to right field, J Wilson scored, McLouth to second

Mackowiak singled to right field, McLouth scored, Sanchez to second

Wuertz (9th) in to pitch for the CUBS

Sanchez took third, Mackowiak took second on a wild pitch

Bay struck out (called)

J Wilson struck out swinging

Doumit struck out swinging

 

2 runs, 4 hits, 0 errors, 2 men left on base

Murton, pinch hitting for Wuertz, grounded out to second, 4-3

Hairston grounded out to short, 6-3

Perez singled to right field

Grabow in to pitch (4th), Redman in cf (9th) for Pittsburgh

Perez stole second base, took third on a throwing error, E2

Walker flied out to center field

 

0 runs, 1 hits, 1 errors, 1 men left on base

Any particular reason why Maddux was taken out after 5 solid innings?

 

He started the 6th and gave up 4 straight hits and 2 runs and got 0 outs.

Couple of nights ago, all the CUBS pitchers names began with W and they came in an walked a lot of people..... tonight, they're striking out a lot of people. I think I like it better this way !!

Four CUBS pitchers..... 7-2/3 innings pitched...... each with at least 2 strikeouts, (13 k's total)..... and ZERO walks !!! Gotta love it !!
