the hou/la game tonight has been huge for me. oswalt inexplicably pitched like [expletive], so that means no w, no qs and probably a loss for him. plus, it should mean no points from lidge. plus kent went deep.

i should be up 40+ going into tomorrow...i have weaver and westbrook going, tootie has washburn.

All this helps to balance out that Sheets is down for the year?

So, J....what are the tie breakers? Does head-to-head count before points? If so, am I still screwed? If I win this week (questionable) and next week, I will have the same record as HBC, but have swept him in the regular season. If Buddiga loses next week (assuming he holds his 30 pt lead this week), and the above happens, we have the same record. I split with him and am way down in points. So, am I eliminated anyway?

Ah, it doesn't matter anyway. I'm probably going down this week.

i just want to make the playoffs. with sheets being out, i can use that as my excuse if i don't win. :D

Ah, the joys of being way out of contention and not having to be concerned about such issues. :D Not really; I'd much rather be in contention and worried about tie-breakers.

so w/ this win, i've clinched a playoff spot...right? if i lose next week, and hbc and buddiga win, there will be a three way tie. but i'd get in because i'm 4-0 against those two teams and have a points advantage on both of them...right?

Yep. Harry's Budcrew and Buddiga are 1-1 in the season series, so if there is a tie it goes to points. Currently, Buddiga holds a 188 pt edge in total points. Who do you want to play in Rd 1 ?

I think Harry's mantra needs to be "go 'bulbs!". In the meantime, raw dawgs can play spoiler.

in the west, looks like Shane eliminates three teams in one week to clinch a spot. congrats on your first playoff appearance (I think) - now I must break you!

hard to say. you would have seven starts (w/ suppan and vazquez getting two). i think HBC would have seven as well (w/ morris and lackey getting two). i'm just glad i won't have to run into a two start week from either of you guys' studs (willis and zito for you, z for HBC)...especially since i'm out sheets for the rest of the season.

your offense scares me with sheff, arod, ortiz and griffey. HBC has cabrera, delgado and a surging victor martinez. i like my pen over both of your guys', and i'm hoping that they pick up the slack for my mediocre rotation.

By far my first playoff appearance. Last two years ago (Beating Delroy in my first week then losing something like 9 straight), and 3rd worst last season. This years team is streaky, either great one week or terrible the next. I am happy just to be here.

You destroyed me our first meeting this season beating me by 80, but I took the 2nd one with a 300+ point week. What does the playoff format look like. Never had to pay much attention in the past.

no, raw is out as unless he scores a whole ton of points next week and gets a three way tie.

my team is pretty streaky too - the playoff format is the same as regular season except for the championship which is two weeks long.

Lets all be thankful we aren't in New Orleans and pray for anyone that didn't or couldn't evacuate.

Looks like I'll wind up with the 4th or 5th highest point total of the week (depending on overnight adjustments; I'm currently a fraction of a point behind NSBB for 4th highest score but have a QS from Lowry), yet still lose by more than 100 points. This is the second week in a row this has happened. :(

I can't tell you how great this score feels this week! I thought for sure you'd be up going into Friday morning, but I came out on top which was a HUGE difference in the match-up.

I believe, w/ a Raw loss............I'm in, right? Or do I have to beat Raw next week? I think that will put me up 2 games on him going into the last week.

I didn't quite beat NSBB last week for high points.........came in a close second, but I think my team pulled it out this week. I'm going to be in the 380s.

hate to be the one to break it to you....but only the top 3 teams in each division make the playoffs. i thought...

the way i see it -- and i may be totally wrong -- tootie has clinched the #1 spot in our division (and a first round bye). w/ my win, i clinched the #2 spot (because i have the tie breaker edge in points and head to head w/ both you and buddiga).

so the last spot is between you and buddiga. assuming you both win this week, you'll be tied for third. first tie breaker is head to head, and you guys split. next tie breaker is points...and buddiga's up 150ish on you there. so, i think you should be pulling pretty hard for him to lose...or for you to outscore him by more than 150 points this week.

someone please correct me if i'm wrong...
