That's not what I'm saying! People here continually ignore the positive things Neifi has brought to this team, they let their hate for him to get in the way. Could you ask for more from a back-up SS?

Yes, yes you could.

Name some better back-up SS in MLB. Please back it up with stats. You may think Cedeno could perform better than Neifi, but you don't know that for certain. AAA stats don't compare to ML stats. Please include defense. Not to mention intagibles like leadership can't be ignored either.

Only 4 SS's in baseball have worse OBP's than Perez. In order for Cedeno to NOT outproduce Perez offensively, his average would have to drop over 80 points, his OBP over 105 points, and his SLG over 135 points from his AAA numbers. Cedeno has a reputation for being a fine defensive player, far from a liability defensively. Technically, Cedeno has outproduced Perez in his short time here, when you combine their fielding and batting runs above average.

I'd appreciate it if you would explain why Neifi has been a good backup SS.

sm. v.s. lg. sample size yet again

Late to the party ... but why is Perez playing AGAIN?

Dusty is killing us.

Perez has hit well at Coors would be my guess....along with a lefty on the mound.

Who hasn't?

What are you talking about? Perez has enough AB's to qualify for a batting title, and Cedeno has over 265 plate appearances at AAA.

I'd still like to see your reasoning that Neifi is a good backup.

Yeah I guess that's true but Perez has had his biggest success there.

Nice comeback by Maddux.

Yeah, but Walker doesn't switch hit, which of course is one of the most valuable skills a hitter can possibly have and far more important than your silly numbers.

someone needs to jam that toothpick deep in Dusty's ear, might make him think a little more clearly

we can blame that popped up bunt on Corey, if he hadnt gotten on base Maddux wouldnt have been bunting...its ALL Corey's fault

I appreciate the effort Hairston gives.

I'd prefer seeing a Hairston ground out, rather then a Corey groundout. At least Hairston does anything possible to get safe at first base.

If Corey had a SINGLE Rbi, in the past 3-4 games, half the people woulden't be complaining. I know I woulden't

If Corey did anything to advance the runners with anything other then a groundout, I'd be happy. If he kept the rally going, I'd be happy.

He isn't doing the above, which is why he gets flack.
