I hate when umpires call people out who were never tagged because the throw beat them. It's like the phantom foot on a double play. Pay attention and make a call based on what actually happens, not what's likely to happen.

Preach it, brutha. Sure looked like a big phantom "sweep" to me too.

Damn. On the replay, Grudz barely grazed Gremlin's shoe before it hit the bag.

why not squeeze here?

My thoughts too. maddux up 2 and 3. so you fail you got 1 and 3 with 2 outs and still got a chance to score a run.

You guys know Dusty doesn't squeeze, right?

He's said on numerous occasions that he doesn't believe in it.

Yeah i know :(

Probably doesnt like it because when he was up and the manager called that play he felt 'slighted'. 'What you dont have confidence in me' BS

Ok. So whats the over/under on Maddux surrendering a hit to Mulder and then giving up a 2-run dong, to Eckstein, to give StL the lead back in the top of the 3rd??

(sorry for all the cynicism, but at this point, its hard to look at it any other way)

Thanks for proving me wrong, Greg. Are we possibly looking at another quick 1-2-3 inning here?!?! (x100)

I thought I heard he didnt like it because he feared the batter missing the sign and swinging into the runner from 3rd, knocking him out......

Hmmm, another vote that Dusty is a real genius when it comes to handling players...... he ADMITS that Lee is tired physically, but yet he trots him out there EVERYday. Hmmm......... Edited by CubsHawks25

Same deal with Aramis. My biggest fear is that sure, Dusty will leave... but not before he totally ruins our corner IFs and we wind up having to say goodbye to Kerry like with Jon Lieber.

I waited out the rain delay as long as I could before I had to leave to pick my dog up from the vet and get Addison from day care.

I don't know what is more shocking....Macias and Perez at the top of the order....or the fact that we're winning with Macias and Perez at the top of the order.
