Remember when Milton almost threw a No Hitter against the Cubs last season?

Clearly. :x

Yup. Barrett had a bloop double to break that up.

Hill proceeds to plunk Willy Mo and then walk Dunn. Throw strikes please.

Hasn't control issues always been the knock on Hill? Maybe he's not quite ready.

The curve is really his only established pitch. When it's on, it's devastating. When it's off, well, you can dig out the box score on his last outing, where he couldn't locate his curve OR fastball.

Hill has no business being up here. I SO wish Hendry had procured a rental starter before the trade deadline, but the only good option would have been AJ out of Florida, and that would have taken a ton to get. And he's not exactly without health problems, either.

Why not just let Mitre start? I'm not too comfortable with Hill or Williams, neither seem to have much control.

Can Lee get a day off already. He's been terrible since the all-star break.

He's getting under everything. He's has to be hurting and/or very tired.

I still say his shoulder is bothering him.

yes, sit dlee. do not even have him dress. keep him in the clubhouse and work with the trainer.stretch and sit in the whirlpool for 2 days...he has been our offense all year, let him rest and try for some personal accomplishments, at least it will give us something to cheer for!

Should've given him a day off today before the Houston-Cards series start.

As do I. Players can be very stubborn when it comes to taking themselves out, especially when they and the team are in a percieved "critical" stretch. I think someone has to see he needs to rest, and sit him.

Sounds like a good question to ask Carrie Muskat... if the organization dares to have her do another Cubs Mailbox piece this year. :)

I think we'll get to Milton. Yesterday our 2-6 hitters went 3-19; today, they already have two hits.

That just means that they'll only get 1 more hit today.

First, Lee should've had the Thursday game after the All-Star game off; second, he should've had the day off immediately after the off-day in Philly.

Dusty's going to ride Lee into the ground, and Derrek's going to let him.

Oh, that's why crappy Burnitz is playing. He's 6-9 against Milton with two homers. I can't believe Hendry has been after Burnitz since 2003.
