My guess would either be Aram or Cpatt. I hope that the entire rumor is wrong though.

Ouch. Don't say that... :pukel:

All the injuries? All the power? I certainly hope not, but he fits the category.

Raffy has played in less than 154 games only twice since he allegedly started taking steroids. I'm not sure if injury history is the best guideline.

You would think that anyone listed in Canseco's book who actually did not take steroids would have sued him already. I mean if im a pro athlete who hasn't cheated and im accused in a book of cheating (especially by taking steroids) im suing the author of the book for slander. This leads me to believe that Canseco's book is probably pretty true.

I don't mean to speak for JC, but I think that libel is extremely difficult to prove, since the standard is so high. There's enough suspiscion out there to probably serve as a successful defense for Jose.

That's my thinking as well. So not suing shouldn't mean the players in question are guilty as ChiCubsFan suggested.

This is getting to be one of those things that needs to be spelled out once and then stickied.

PEOPLE CANNOT TELL WHO IS ON STEROIDS AND WHO IS NOT JUST BY LOOKING. BECAUSE A PLAYER IS SMALL OR LARGE DOES NOT MEAN HE IS ON STEROIDS. BECAUSE A PLAYER IS OR IS NOT A POWER HITTER DOES NOT MEAN THAT HE IS OR IS NOT ON STEROIDS.

As Will Carroll often says, if we could look at players and tell who was using and who was not, we wouldn't have to spend all this money on testing.

Point taken. Lets just hope this report is false (except for the Astros bit)

I really really really really hope you are right 1908, because I have two roomates who are Pirates and Red Sox fans who swear Aramis is on steroids. They site his minor production and his increase in size over the years. I think I get nervous because I use that argument against Bonds.

He isn't that big, about the same size as Burnitz

Huh? Aramis displayed significant power at a very young age. A .220 IsoP at 18 in class A, a .239 IsoP at 19 in high class A, and a .236 IsoP at 23 in MLB.

I wouldn't be surprised if AT LEAST HALF the major league roster players in baseball took steroids at one time or another. This is professional sports with millions and millions of dollars on the line... doesn't suprise me in one bit. And MLB was pretty lax for a LONG time.

And don't kid yourself... any competitive player from any era would probably have done the same thing.. hell the Black Sox threw a world series for money....

A friend of mine told that this morning on XM radio they anounced that several more high profile player have tested positive for steriod and that the names will be anounced later this week. There is a list that is said to contain 1 Cub, 1 Giant, 1 Oriols, 1 Philliy, 1 Tiger, 2 Mets, 2 Astros, and 3 Yankees. I think hes full of crap!

Can anyone confirm this?

Just for the heck of it, if they are high profile, these would be my guesses:

Cub:Nomar

Giant: Bonds

Oriole: Sosa

Philly: Abreu

Tiger: Pudge

Mets: Piazza, Pedro

Astros: Bagwell, Ensberg

Yankees: Giambi, Sheffield, Posada

All hypothetical, but it was kinda fun trying to guess. I think some of the picks are sort of obvious but anyway...

My guess would be:

Cub:Patterson (Minor League)

Giant: Alou

Oriole: Mora

Philly: Thome

Tiger: Ordonez

Mets: Beltran, Reyes

Astros: Ensberg, Berkman

Yankees: Sheffield, Womack and K. Brown

Cub: Burnitz

Giant: Sanchez (strike 2)

Oriole: Sosa

Philly: Thome

Tiger: Pudge (Rondell White is a good candidate, So is Farnsworth if the test was before the trade)

Mets: Piazza, Floyd

Astros: Bagwell, Ensberg

Yankees: Giambi, Sheffield, Brown

Okay, WHAT evidence do you have that farns has taken steroids??? He's not that big. He's just tall and ripped. That means he is strong and lifts weights.

Puhleese. Nothing like grasping for straws. This steroid speculation is so increadably stupid, imo. There is no way of telling.....well.....jsut go reat Tree's post.

Take it FWIW, but my HS baseball coach's brother was in the army with Farns' brother. He told him about Kyle before Kyle was in the bigs to watch for him, but also told him that he did steroids. Again, take it FWIW, but I thought I'd throw it out there. It certainly didn't surprise me when I heard it, and I'm one of the Farns' biggest backers.
