How realistic would a trade be with the Red Sox including

Corey Patterson, Sergio Mitre, and a lower prospect

for

Johnny Damon and cash considerations

Johnny wants to be a Cub next season, and this was we have a chance this year too

another possibility is send them harriston also, for H Ramierez

Thoughts on this trade?

Damon actually said he wants to be a Cub or he said he likes the Cubs? Just wondering!!!

I really don't see that going down. Especially for Corey Patterson, Sergio Mitre, and a lower prospect. They would want Pie and more.

Damon and Todd Walker were together here when the Red Sox were in town. Damon was quoted in the Chicago papers that he enjoys the ambiance of Wrigley and the Cub fans. He said that 'it would be something to really look at' when the season is over. I suspect he will test the FA waters and be in great demand.

Would I take Damon over Pie in CF in 2006? Don't know, but certainly possibly one of them could move to LF or RF. The chances are Pie will not come out and hit .330 in the BIGS the first year and Damon would be a great tutor(plus, hitting .300+ himself).

I'm sold. Where do I sign?

As far as I can tell Damon is doing exactly what Beltran did last season... find all possible suitors to keep the price as high as possible so that his agent can get as close to the $50M/5 year he's seeking.
