  1. I read somewhere that the Rangers rejected a Patterson for Mench swap so that part of the idea might not be possible.
  2. 3 I believe... 1 here, 1 for Wellemeyer, and 1 for Van Buren. You mean Leicester not Welly right? Yeah. Got me before I had a chance to edit that out.

  4. Anyway I like the Pierre trade. The cost may have been high but at least we have someone at the top to get something done. I think Pierre will do fine and have no issues with this trade at all.
  5. Cubs #1 spot: 245/299/358/658 Opponents #1 spot: 291/362/422/784 Those are some pretty depressive stats. I feel so sorry for Lee and our pitching staff could have done better than that.
  6. I think Dann Perry is an idiot personally. He hates the Cubs. Anyway... commenting on what he wrote... We lost out on Furcal but $13M per was way too much. I don't think Hendry was ever serious about Burnett and Giles because I don't think they were ever serious about us. And given the market we haven't paid all that much for those relievers. At first I was upset but after seeing what other pitchers of lesser quality have been getting I'm not anymore. I do believe Hendry deserves a low grade thus far because we need to really fix our offense. But he did fix the bullpen. I'd give him a C right now. Still plenty of time.
  7. Brandon Sing could in theory get picked up by the Royals allowing them to get back to back prospects. He could easily hide out there for a year. And the Reds' Kevin Howard looks like a solid lock for the Marlins too. They could easily stash that guy on the all prospects team.
  8. So I made a typo that I'm aware of... but for some reason the site isn't letting me edit the title or the link. Now get back on topic grammar police.
  9. [/url]http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/http:// Brad Wilkerson for Cedeno straight up. I'd post the article but I don't know if that's allowed here.
  10. Wilkerson isn't horrendous but he isn't great either. I mean he isn't a guy I would set my goals with. He K's a lot, he can't steal worth a damn, his power is on and off, and the guy doesn't have average. He has his pluses but for me overall he is just a bit above average and certainly nothing special to watch.
  11. Personally I wouldn't be interested in Wilkerson. But if it's to get Javier Vazquez I would be up for that. I'm all for adding an innings eater given our health situation and we certainly could do worse. Of course I would be expecting the D-Backs to eat some of that contract in exchange for prospects though with this market it would remain to be seen.
  12. Where did you hear this? Was this on the radio or something?... I wouldn't mind so much if others were involved but I really wouldn't like to get rid of Pinto.
  13. As far as I can tell Damon is doing exactly what Beltran did last season... find all possible suitors to keep the price as high as possible so that his agent can get as close to the $50M/5 year he's seeking.
  14. I always felt trading Farnsworth was a mistake. It was a gut instinct that he was going to have one of his good years. But if he was at odds with the organization maybe it was for best. I still felt we should have kept him around just a bit longer.
  15. The Cubs won't trade Lee, he's one of the core guys to the offense along with Ramirez and Barrett. The idea isn't bad (trading Lee when his value is sky high) I just really doubt Hendry would field offers for them.
  16. Schmidt's injury has decrease his value and made him much riskier, plus hes a FA at the end of the season. Wilkerson still has 2 more arbi years. We are still talking about Schmidt. Any team could use a pitcher like Schmidt who I consider to be more valuable than Wilkerson. Anyway... the bigger issue is for the Cubs who are the ones supplying everything.
  17. Washington is making out like bandits. For them it's only Wilkerson for Schmidt, Remmy, $1M and a prospect? Wow. And the Cubs are getting fleeced supplying everything.
  18. Trading Corey for even more pitching... as if we didn't have a lot of that running around.
