Is this an official lineup?

If so, then its a very bad lineup. Why isn't Aramis in it?

I know people will complain about Murton batting 6th while Neifi is 2nd.

But if you put Murton up to the 2 spot, your 6-9 is Macias, Neifi, Blanco and Prior.

Neifi played a couple innings at 3rd on Wednesday. He could be back in at 3rd and put Cedeno at SS. The club is stronger both offensively and defensively if indeed Aramis is out today.

Then again, Cedeno had a tough day yesterday so he needs five days on the bench watching the proven veterans.

I don't think it's official but Macias in for Aramis, Walker 5th and Murton in the lineup is all official. That lineup very well may be official, I don't know.

What usually happens when he puts the worst imaginable line ups out there, is the cubs score 6, 7 runs a game. Never fails.

Yea, I have noticed that, too.

This game against Vasquez reminds me of that big pitching duel him and Prior had going on one game in early 2003 when Vasquez was with the Expos.

I hope our bats come to life today.

Noteworthy Match-ups (Arizona Diamondbacks) Vs. Mark Prior (RHP, 7-3 with 3.23 ERA)

Noteworthy Match-ups (Chicago Cubs) Vs. Javier Vazquez (RHP, 9-7 with 4.37 ERA)

Prediction Based on Match-ups: Well, since the Cubs are so good offensively against Vazquez, I will say, Win.

PBOM Record: 5-3

Their all rally killers anyway, why not let them kill their own rally instead of killing off an opportunity before Lee gets to the plate. I could easily understand this if Neifi had OBP, but arghhh.....

DOH. I was planning on spot starting this one. But I got into a conversation with a GIRL and forgot about it. See what females do to me

Officially:

Hairston

Perez

Lee

Burnitz

Walker

Murton

Macias

Barrett

Prior

How on earth does Macias bat ahead of Barrett ?

And what did Neifi do to earn himself the #2 spot while Walker's 5th? I hope Walker goes 4-4 and hits for the cycle and Neifi goes 0-4 to prove that Walker should bat second.

At least there's a chance that there will actually be people on base when Murton comes up.

Such a Dusty moment though, that we finally get what we want (Murton over Holla against a right hander) and he makes a lineup so ridiculous we can't celebrate it.

Matt Murton is making his first start in left field against a right-hander today.

We're not certain playing Jody Gerut against Javier Vazquez wouldn't make more sense, but at this point, any move that takes Todd Hollandsworth out of the lineup gets the thumbs up. Jul. 29 - 1:47 pm et

see, i was thinking that with his strikeouts and DP yesterday that cedeno had learned all that he could from watching the vets. his apprenticeship is complete!
