Harvey triples in the 1st with 2 outs but is stranded there. In the 2nd, however, Flowers scores after a leadoff walk on an RBI triple by Fuld. Fuld then scores on an RBI groundout by Rick.

Anyone else having trouble hearing the Peoria broadcast? I've got it turned all the way up but I can barely hear it.

Your speakers must not be powerful enough.

Nomar's 2nd AB (0 on, 0 outs)

-Outside, ball 1

-grounded foul, strike 1

-low, ball 2

-popped foul, strike 2

-flied to right

Nathan said that Nomar signed for about an hour yesterday in the rain.

EPatt's RBI single gives the Chiefs a 3-2 lead.

Nomar's 3rd AB (2 on, 0 out):

-Infield popup

Ugh.

Nomar batted in the 6th (I missed it) and drove in a pair of runs with a single. He finishes the day 1-4.

Strange. A ground ball to Rick with 2 outs in the 7th, he triest to throw to third but it sails into right field, and Harvey picks it up and nails the runner from second at the plate to end the game. 7-3 the final.

The run that scored on the play gets charged to Weber. He finishes with 3 runs (2 earned) and a well deserved win. He walked nobody.

Nomar struck out once in Mesa, I believe. He makes a lot of contact and swings early in the count, though, so not striking out much isn't as big of a deal.

Eric went 2-4 with a SB in game 1.

I'm I wrong to be incouraged that Nomar has not struck out? I believe he didn't in Mesa either.

Depends on the circumstances.

If he's battling hard, getting full counts, and protecting the strike zone effectively, but not getting results from it, yes it is encouraging.

If he's doing the first pitch pop-up thing...then no, it's not encouraging.

sounds like nothing new there, he's always swinged early and often in the count :) At least he's making contact...hopefully the hits will fall.

Wow, that must have been a REALLY bad throw!

Ha, I was thinking the same thing. :)

Harvey has a heck of an arm in RF.

Fuld (batting 6th today) goes 2-3 with a triple, an rbi and 2 runs scored. His average is up to .292, which is impressive given how slowly he started. I wonder if he and Nomar had a conversation about #5. :P

Nathan said Eric scored from first on a Nomar single in the 6th, as well. 8)

Indeed, it was impressive. It's too bad that it was Nomar hitting, Eric's first to home trip was overshadowed.

Nomar's two pop-ups had me a little worred. He was getting way under the ball. The single in the 6th was a solid smash up the middle of the diamond.

On a side note, the most entertaining thing about this evenings game was watching Harvey leg out a tripple.

*Edit: Forgot to mention, Nomar did turn a 6-3 double play over an incoming runner. He looked real comfortable doing it, which may be the best sign of all.

Nomar needs to start hitting. 0-3 is not a good start. What inning is the game in?

It's 3 at bats...that's it, just three...he's coming off an injury ya know.

Fleita is on with Nathan now.

Hope Nathan asks him why they won't move up E-Patt! :)

Not until AFTER he finishes his Q & A!

Just a heads up... ESPN has video from the Peoria game. On an update thing they showed Nomar single and you you can see EPatt slide into home 8) . They'll probably play it during the Sportscenter, since Yanks/Twins went so long it looks like BBTN won't show it since it will only be a 20min version at 11, but they could.
