I swear to god, if I ever find out what marketing moron came up with the "RBI stands for 'really big ice cream'" thing, I'll hunt him down and string him up by his ankles. It's got to be the most inane thing I've ever heard.

most annoying commercial anywhere IMO.

its always relative because the most annoying commercial always seems to be what is on right now. for me right now its every commercial, promo, cut away, seque, etc. for ESPN 50*50 where they play that really lame song by Bryan Adams (is it Bryan Adams? if so, nice to have a Canadian singing the theme song for the series about the 50 states)

Ok. Let me ask you, then. Can you come up with something stupider than "RBI stands for 'really big ice cream'"?

Rainbows brighten incredibly!

I think that's way lamer.

Ronny with a single - we are so winning this game.

Looks like another late-game win tonight... nice leadoff hit, Ronny!!

Walker-Lee up after we get him to 2nd on the sac bunt (hopefully! cmon Hairston!). Sounds like a W to me!

unreal. I will iterate that this doesn't change the fact that Neifi Perez sucks.

Nothing will.

Neifi, the best back-up SS ever?

Definitely in all MLB for this year. Started as a backup, should have gotten some consideration for the all-star game.

Oh, but he sucks. Yeah....

He's batting under .200 over the last 43 games. He sucks.

I notice you didn't include his BA for the first half of the season. Certainly was above .200.

40 rbis for our SS now.

Which was by far the best stretch of his career. By far. The reality if Neifi is not pretty. He came up big for two months, but that doesn't excuse his sucking like a black hole over the last two. Being nostalgic over Nefi's hot streak is nice, but not productive.

everyone would hate neifi less if he was used correctly. and if dusty never had him batting 1st or 2nd. would've been nice to see what cedeno could've done getting 4/5 starts. wont happen now.

According to VORP (value over replacement), he has contributed 5 runs over what a theoretical replacement SS would produce.

I'm talking about going forward. All of his stats are skewed by his ridiculous April. Since then he's reverted to his career norms, which are awful at hitting, hitting for power, getting on base, and everything else related to offense in baseball.

Excellent job of getting the bunt down, Jerry!... but bunting on an 0-2 count wasn't the right thing to do, after looking horrible on the 1st 2 attempts at it. (IMO)

I'm definitely one that thinks a three week hot streak + a two week hot streak + big hits in back to back games does not make up for completely sucking the rest of the year.

I disagree that we shouldn't expect more from a back up. in a back up I look for a guy to at least make the pitcher work and get on base by all means necessary. I ran through several different stats in a thread in Baseball Discussion listing just how many different catagories Neifi is in the bottom 10 of the league. he just does so very little to help the team win, day in, day out.

other annoyances include bailing out on pitches that would have hit him, and worse still, bailing on pitches that are on the inside corner; and the tendancy to hit into DPs (tied for 13th worst in all of baseball, and hitting with virtually noone on ahead of him most of the season).
