Diamond Jaxx stat of the day: The Jaxx are 3-0 vs the Biscuits this season.

The Jaxx and Biscuits last met on April 25-27 in Jackson. The Jaxx won each game 6-2, 5-3, and 7-2, with Hill, Pignatiello and Valdez as the winning pitchers.

The series against the Biscuits was a part of a dominant stretch by the Jaxx. Starting on April 24th against Huntsville (Jaxx winning 2-1), the Jaxx would go 11-1 with their loss (April 30th) at Mississippi being a 2-1 final. FWIW the Jaxx would go 15-2 over the course of April 24-May 11 (21-4 over April 16-May 11), outscoring their opponents 86-40. The Jaxx would go from 2.5 games back in the division (second place) to 1.5 games ahead in the division.

Is Darin Downs ever going to do anything? So much was thought of him when he was drafted, but hes been kinda quiet ever since...

Davey Gregg has 24 SB already in Boise? Dayum. Lots of singles in his numbers (infield hits?), but that's some nice legwork - especially for a 27th rounder.

Gregg is an interesting player; during this past year of college, a huge number of his hits came via the bunt because of his incredible bunting skills and very good speed. However, he probably lacks the power or on-base ability to ever reach the majors in much more than a backup role, and he won't even do that if he can't cut down on his strikeouts.

You'll be able to read more about Gregg when the 26-30 Round prospect analysis has been posted.

Downs bombed in two starts with Peoria earlier this year, but I think it's time to give him another shot at it. So far, he has been outstanding at Boise. He's still just 20 so there isn't too much of a rush.

Sing is 3-3 with a pair of HRs against the Biscuits in an early offensive showcase, Jaxx up 7-5 to the bottom of the 5th

Looks like it was a sloppy game in Lansing with 6 errors combined for Peoria & Lansing (4 for the Chiefs). Peoria loses 7-2.

Sam Fuld is up to .283 now after his slow start.

Call up to Iowa pls

I'm considering gathering a Brandon Sing bandwagon... his numbers the past two years have been awesome, and it's been done playing half his games in a pitcher's park. Hell, almost the whole FSL is pitcher's parks. The guy is a legit prospect, possibly a very underrated one.

Luis Montanez is now 3-3 after his first HR! The next batter proceeds to get hit. No brawl but it sounded like it got testy. The Biscuits don't want any of Ron. :twak:

<-----------------sender of a "smart-alek" e-mail to Ron.

I told Ron that if a fight broke out I'd drive Ribbee down there to whip Big Mo.

What's Ron's opinion of my new second favorite Cub minor leaguer, Brandon Sing? And as a general question, is Sing even competent in the OF? First base is obviously blocked. I'd like to see Sing get a shot with the Cubs, because he gets on base a whole lot, and has big time power. Edited by TruffleShuffle

Nomah sighting....wonderful feeling. I assume once he's able to play a full game, he's up to AAA. Then its a matter of a week or so...sooooooooo exciting.
