I hate how boring college football is these days until the night games unless you get lucky and Big Noon grabs a marquee game.  When it's Illinois/Ohio State, there's really not a ton of interesting games for me.  Texas/Tennessee is somewhat interesting but outside of that, meh.

Ohio State' defense is miles away from championship quality.  Illini with a banged up OL, have moved the ball with relative ease and if they weren't tripping over their own dicks they'd have more points.

Can we stop giving third-rate streaming platforms like Peacock games? 3 minutes into this PSU Wisconsin game, there has been constant audio and video issues.

I caught the end of that Texas/Tennessee game and boy was that a friggin' mess. I don't think there was an actual play for a full 5 minutes because of flags, and then when there was, the Vols' freshman QB mismanaged the situation and had to chuck a doomed Hail Mary to the end zone because he was out of time to try a quick out that might have set up a tying field goal.

Overexpansion of the conferences creating a lot of stupid matchups none of us actually want to watch (Clemson @ Cal Friday night anyone?), a general lack of desire to play good OOC games and a lack of stakes for many of the ones people do deign to play has really watered down September IMO.

lol, Michigan

And lol, Wisconsin

Michigan - karma' a bitch.  I believe they've the defense to keep OSU within range unfortunately, they don't have the offense to take advantage of a pedestrian OSU defense.  Too bad the Illini couldn't trade for their defense.

thoroughly unimpressed with Matt Campbell in this game. Complete collapse in 4th quarter and an awful looking 2 minute drill

Badgers really had no business winning that game, but the defense held up which gave them a chance. It’s probably a one-off though.

Since people flagged me down for comment after the WMU game, I'll preemptively say that I choose not to comment on any Michigan related events from today.  Thank you for respecting my wishes.

It’s not like anyone would want to see Clemson/Maryland or Cal/Oregon either.

As was already mentioned upthread, people who weren’t fans (and some who are) weren’t getting hot and heavy over Illinois-OSU who have been playing forever and even have a trophy. And Illinois is kinda an ok team

Campbell did a terrific job turning Iowa State from a straight up basement program into a pretty good one, but it's probably easier to go from basement to pretty good than it is to go from very good to elite.

We'll see how he does when he's getting Penn State level players there instead of essentially importing Iowa State's roster, though.

I don't know if Wisconsin is good but they just got a good win and drew a winning hand in the conference schedule (Southern Cal looks fraudtastic yet again, has to come to Madison, and might be the best team left on their schedule) . They could have a good year.
