Looks like he's fully embraced the pull-heavy mentality; probably just not yet strong enough to really tap into the requisite power. He has a very high IFFB rate as well. I'm looking forward to next year, I think the power will break out even more. Love me some Kepley. I feel like if hes an above average hitter you are looking at a 3-4 win player.

Lot more promotions.

Braylon Myers and 2026 draft pick Brennan Hudson to South Bend. Jackson Brockett and Dom Krupinski to Knoxville.

Jordan Nwogu, Ed Howard, Daniel Campos, Evan Taylor, Kohl Franklin and Tyler Santana to Iowa.

Holy crap that's a jump for Hudson.  I get that he was an SEC senior with a polished bat and approach, but still.

Ed Howard to Iowa?  24, unfortunate injury history, not much hitting, is he close to the end with the Cubs?

I had no idea Nwogu was still in the organization.

edit:

How can you be 6 foot 2, 230lbs and have 1 HR in 151 PAs and 5HRs over your last 519 PAs.

His swing was always horribad at Michigan. The dream was "teach this linebacker a good swing and homeruns go brrrr" but he has remained just a massive mechanical mess.

What happened with Ed Howard? I wasn't following closely at the time, but I'm sure the weirdness of the Covid draft had something to do with the pick

He had the double whammy of the covid year plus early injuries, but the the long and short is, the defense is good, the bat is not and hasn't improved even a little.

Bummer of a career. I think the 2020 draft year hurt him; he basically had no senior year. This probably overstated his draft profile (great glove, bat was getting better) and he lost significant developmental time. Cubs pushed him to Myrtle right away, he struggled. Comes back the next year, finally looks solid then has a devastating hip injury. He's never been the same. Even defensively he's fallen off because he just doesn't have the explosiveness any more.

The hip injury was really bad. Like he couldn't walk for a month after.
