They had Leiter on the ropes all night and couldn’t cash in. Easy to say “not our night” under the circumstances.

Agreed 👍

Yeah, that was a rough game to watch. Just reset and get it going again tomorrow - 27 winds by May 10th is pretty damn solid.
Nico may need a reset day - Shaw could use some ABs anyway. Nico is off for sure

Cabrera has electric stuff.

Does he though?  It's above-average stuff for sure, but hitters tee off on both his fastballs.  Makes it difficult to succeed if you can't establish your fb.  His velo is also down this year and was down even more this start.

They’ve been getting their asses kicked when they do lose, which hasn’t been very often lately.
Not a fan of losing 6-0 in a Leiter vs Cabrera matchup either.

Nico was hitting 326 from September 1st of last year-may 1st in 65 games including the playoffs. It could be a neck issue or simply regression to the mean. Bregman has been the most disappointing.

The 2016 Cubs at the 40 game mark were 29-11, only 2 games better. Of course their run differential was +113 compared to +50 with 3 starting pitchers who received cy young votes and 2 top 5 finishers.
