I would certainly die happy. I am a New York based Cub fan

who remembers well the 1945 Series. I am also 73 years old, so I

don't have too many chances remaining. I leave the anticipation to

the young bloods.

Wow, that's awesome. I hope that the Cubs do get the WS soon, for people like you who had to go through all the years of suffering.

Hopefully this year could be the one. *crosses fingers*

By the way, welcome. :D

Ouch. That got me, too :( .

I was thinking about this, and I believe that it's entirely conceivable that the Cubs winning the world series would be the single greatest event of my entirely life. No exceptions.

I also think that the Cubs just making it to the world series would definitely be top 10.

And if they lost that world series, it might just be in the top 10 worst events in my life. That would be an ultimate high followed by the ultimate low.

Seriously, what would you do?

I think I would sit down and actually be man-enough to admit that I would cry and be like no way man.

What about you guys?

When they beat the Braves in 2003, i was laying in bed staring at the ceiling with the biggest stupid grin on my face just thinking about it. To win the series, I'd cry like a little baby...beautiful tears of joy. Hell I'd be excited to just make it again to be honest with you.

if the cubs won the world series, i just hope it came at a time when i wasnt broke. if i had alot of loot, i would:

A) drink 5 bottles of Petron during the pre-game. Take a cab to Wrigley with tickets i bought on-line for $1000 each. Sitting in amazing seats, i order 2 beers an inning for the first 6 innings. At this point, im so wasted i cant even walk. After the game, we spill onto Addision and fall into some local bar with a sea of other cubs fans. bartenders are passing out free beers, which puts me in an orbit i havent been to since the late high school-early college years. in this insightful state, i come up with a brilliant idea.....

B) go to the Skybox and get a lap-dance drinking Crown Royal. at this point, the Patron, 15+ beers, and crown royal have my decisions going from good to not so good, to not good at all, to downright terrible. in honor of the incredible, historic nature of the victory, i decide to make the ultimate allegence to the Cubs. determined, i hope into a cab and start shouting directions.

C) we find ourf way to the tatoo parlor and i get a picture of todd walker fielding a ground ball on my chin, cheek, and mouth area.

D) stumble home smoking God-knows what with the hipsters outside the Rainbo Club on Division and Damn i finally manage to get to bed.

E) wake up, take a shower, get dressed and go to work --only to have every single person in the building immediately stare at my new facial tatoo.

F) two seconds later proceed to walk home after getting immediately terminated for extreme violation of company policy (no face tatoos). hung over, i hichhike to belmont and clark to start my new life as begger getting by on ann sathers patrons.

ahh but it was all worth it because the Cubs won the world series!!!!!!

1. I know a lot of Cardinal and White Sox fans, who rub salt in my wounds every time the Cubs lose. I'd get back at them and rub it in.

2. Participate in a riot. You know, smash bottles, burn cars

3. Wear a paper bag on my head to school in shock

4. Buy all merchandise from the season. Shirt, cap, DVD, you name it.

5. I'd have a heart attack

The question is.....what would you do if the Cubs won the world series?

Hmmm...that's a toughie.

BUT, I would give up the secrets that has haunted mankind over the past 100yrs. You know "who shot Prez Kennedy?" Where is Jimmy Hoffa? What is ESPN's fascination with the Yankees/Red Sox? Is Hillary Clinton a man or woman?  Just kidding.

For real:

in monotone voice

I would get down, get durty, get naked and shake my manly boobs around like I don't care, cause I would be WAY past drunk. The level that would be approaching the White Sox fan level of rowdiness. And after I am release from jail for disorderly conduct, and being "wrongfully naked", I would go home and repeat step #1. Then I would "Fly like an eagle" to Wrigley and scream at the Cubs management "WHAT THE WORLD TOOK YOU SO LONG?" And then I would go over to the White Sox fan, and just TAUNT the ever crap out of him/her.

That is what I would do. \:D/

Also, if it would happen this year I would be going to Gibsons in the following week or so for a large steak dinner on my friend, who happens to be a Cardinals fan. Hopefully it isn't the other way around because I don't feel like paying for that...

I would forgive Steve Bartman

I don't hold anything against Bartman, but related to that (and in addition to pretty much everything listed already), I would watch reruns of that play, because I would finally be able to watch it without crying and balling up under the desk in a fetal position for hours at a time. Cubs winning the WS is the only way to reduce the sensitivity of that scar.
