Cubs will clinch the wild card behind some great pitching by Wood, Prior, and Zambrano.

 

The Cubs will make a trade for an impact bat.

 

The Cubs will start the play-offs as the wild card and be the fourth straight wild card team to win the World Series!

The entire Cards team will catch mono from Jim Edmonds and collapse in the second half. The Cubs will then dominate the national league after trading for Adam Dunn. Ronny Cedeno will win rookie of the year after hitting .450 in the second half.

The Cubs win the first WS of many this century in a four game sweep of the Minnesota Twins. In retrospect, this will be seen as the beginning of the vaunted Cubs Dynasty, which at first is compared to the Yankees' Dynasty of the 20th Century, but the comparison is later reversed as time goes on.

I sincerely hope not. I jumped in here to mix it up, in a friendly manner, with some of the best fans in MLB. I hope I'm allowed to set up my lawn chair, ice up a 12-pack, and share some dialogue.

If you ask my step-daughter, who is 5, who the Cubs are, she says "The Cubs are the best ever!"

In addition, being stuck in NW Arkansas, we get the Cards like crazy, and she does a fake gun with her hand whenever she sees the Cards logo.

I am responsible for the first part, and she is just plain smart enough to figure out the second!

50 or less word prediction

 

The cubs will start strong the second half and gain a considerable lead in the wild card (5-6 games). They will trade for a big stick, deadly offense; Nomar will come back full force. Lee and Ramirez will get hurt the end of August and they will tank the season.
