Mets are going to be tough. Their lineup is stacked and now some much needed pitching help.

I haven't seen it confirmed but sounds like Peralta and Tobias Meyers for Brandon Sproat and Jett Williams.  Assume the Brewers will win every trade but on paper not that scary.

Passan confirming everything but Meyers

Feels like a heavy overpay on two Top 50 prospects for one year of Peralta.

Good to have Peralta out of the division but you know Williams will be a leadoff hitter pest against us for years and Sproat will be Peralta all over.

I'm sure I'll eat these words but every Jett Williams scouting report is like "his power is so impressive for someone so little!"  But like they seem pretty ordinary overall?  He's a good prospect, his production for his age is plus, but this seems like a guy who'd be a borderline top 100 type if he was 5'11" and didn't play for New York?

The Cubs should walk through the division this year, seriously. At some point the Brewers have to come up Milhouse.

I was trying to think of this like the Cubs looking to trade Steele after 2027 if he comes back and is really effective. I would hate it....but the Brewers are not the Cubs.

I'd rather have PCA or another good prospect for 6 years than Baez for an extra year.  But it's not an easy decision when you're contending.  Hard to trade a Nico or Seiya/Happ right now.

Yeah Brewers need to do this more than the Cubs do for sure though.
