Interesting and Controversial Analogy

100% AI, right? I feel like I’m losing my mind reading these posts.

Again, you fail to see any indication otherwise. Your posts possess a way of thinking that is only seen in people like... Jed Hoyer. Each time you speak, it destroys any decent institution of an idea. We don't need to have earthquakes or tension on this forum at all.

Honestly, in the next few years, I'm going to become a decent person and might return. I hope that I don't have as much pseudo-intellectual behaviors. And I'm planning to go into the government... I'm glad I'm not representing Chicagoans and Illinois residents, because each one I meet on here seems to have the same snobbish behavior.

And you seem pretty much like Turning Point USA if you want to close this forum's borders to only allow your tangential and hollow bickering about new users.

I think we all know guys like this in real life. They’ll say the craziest stuff to you because they’ve convinced themselves that if they sound really smart, people will like them, all the while holding a huge forced smile the entire time to try and convince you they’re normal. I respect it

There's this one game that had a plastic item that once inserted in your mouth, it would force a smile. I don't know why I thought of that immediately, but whatever.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not...

You can sign out and stop posting. Instead, you keep going. You can't help it.

I sincerely hope you change your mind and decide to stay. You seem like a good dude. You certainly love baseball and the Cubs. You have a unique mind, that's for sure, but I can appreciate that.

As usual, your comments are snobbish and pretentious.

I think this is what you will find on every message board. If you decide to stay, I'd recommend keeping on topic with the discussion and say way less about your personal life. Ignore people who challenge your AI-ness. We all say something embarrassing or dumb at some point. If you aren't willing to let playful banter at your expense bounce off of you, I'd suggest looking for a different hobby than posting on message boards.

There are some amazingly smart people posting here. There are some amazingly not so smart people posting here. Everyone contributes. This isn't a clique. Some people are hated as equally as they are adored. Thick skin is necessary on sports team discussion boards. It's okay to just read posts and not interject opinions on every topic. Blend in. Don't dominate the discussion.

More than 70 posts already is alarming during an offseason where nothing of significance is happening. Most of those posts are defending yourself or talking about things that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

If you decide to stay, put the shiny new toy on the shelf for awhile and give equal time to your other toys. This isn't a race. You are never going to win the most posts race here. MOJO will never allow it.

Yeah, a good number of people here have been members for over 20 years, no one is going to come in and become king of the posting hill. And many of us are acerbic jerks half the time.

But if someone is gonna come in hot like this with such an apparent lack of self-awareness, they better have a thick skin. That's assuming this temu Meph-Kyle hybrid thing isn't just a bit.

Thank you for the sincere comments. Those made my day.

Unfortunately, with the majority of users speculating on my "uniqueness" and them thinking I'm just trolling, I think I'll have to leave. Not forever, but I'll come back with proof that I want to engage with this community.

I'm thinking about perhaps writing a book about the Chicago Cubs with heavy philosophical undertones (a nonfiction one, of course). If I write that and share it with all of you, it will probably help all reconsider my mind and everything else.

It'll take time, though. Lots of time. Planning, sourcing, checking, etc. And the moderators don't seem too keen on deleting my account, but when they finally do, I'll be more motivated to finish the book on time.

@BigbadBI've been on several message boards, and there's never one where people don't suspect something or another thing. Believe, me, I've been accused of being multiple things: extreme, AI, a "foreigner" who is translating into English, etc., etc. But here, the comments have gone even farther, with some users and even a moderator speculating about the way I talk or engage with this community and that I might have some "neurodivergence." Since everyone is so keen on knowing, and since the comments were rather odd, I guess I can say that I was diagnosed with PDD-NOS, not autism, but something like Asperger's (what Elon Musk has). That implies that I was diagnosed in 2013--don't need a re-diagnosis, as I don't believe in human conditions constraining me at al.

And since everyone hates the fact that I'm a high school student and am not really smart, it's kind of disappointing. I don't want to put my AP test scores/PreACT scores on here, because that would be bragging, but I'm definitely not a pseudo-intellectual. In fact, when people get used to me on new forums, they regret what they've said. But none has gone as far as this one. (On one forum currently, I'm sharing my grievances about this one, and of course I'm not saying the name/subject of this one because I don't want to cause anything else. I pretend I don't like sports on those more intellectual/political ones, anyway.)

And if you have the time, maybe you could create a philosophy/baseball philosophy section. I would have been very active on that one, but it doesn't seem like there is one quite yet.

It's not a bit--and I was never planning on being a heavy poster, so I don't know where that is coming from.

What is a "Meph-Kyle hybrid thing?"

As someone who has mostly just been a dismissive jerk in this thread, I will offer some actual advice.

You don't need to prove anything. Stop trying. Just offer opinions. Expect to be challenged on them. I am the king of saying dumb horsefeathers on this board, but learn a lot from what other people post (and occasionally get things right).

Any time you start a sentence with "I'm going to come back and show you all...." just stop. Don't do that. Don't build some sort of scientific/philosophical whatever it is you think you're doing to prove something. Don't try to prove your intellect or deep thinking or whatever. Just be a person talking with other people.

Meph was a member here years ago (right at the time Sabermetrics was gaining popularity) who always acted like he was the smartest person in the room. He had very big (and often very wrong) opinions, always backed up by his misunderstanding of advanced statistics. He famously predicted that Khalil Greene was going to be the next Alex Rodriguez.

Kyle.....where to start. Smart dude, but was such a mixture of pretentious and weird that everything he posted was completely off putting.

Thank you.

*Bows*

Did you take AP classes yourself? It seems like you're knowledgeable about the scoring system.

Right now I'm taking World, Gov, Precalc, and Seminar (a boring English class where we write research papers). Honestly, teachers often believe they're better than their non-AP teaching counterparts solely because they're teaching AP.

But at least my Gov teacher likes baseball.

And I know you're being... sarcastic. Just curious.
