Is he the clearest #1 pick since Harper?

I recall Jackson Holliday and Adley Rutschman being consensus #1 overall picks along the same lines as Roch, but I could be mistaken.

No shade to Roch, though, because the guy is a beast.

Was Skenes consensus? I cant recall.

Crews and Skenes were 1A and 1B but both BA and Pipeline had Crews ahead of Skenes.

I had to look up 2022 because I vaguely remembered there being a cluster and no consensus but surprisingly, both BA and Pipeline both had Druw Jones ahead of Jackson Holliday (BA actually had Brooks Lee ahead of Holliday too).

Adley was definitely the consensus in 2019 (and amusingly, has easily been passed by the #2 guy in that year's draft rankings, Bobby Witt Jr).

Mini-mock draft: Projecting the first 13 picks

1. Chicago White Sox: Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA

This already seems to be down to Cholowsky and Grady Emerson. I think Cholowsky has a notable lead, but it isn't a slam dunk just yet.

If he doesn't pitch himself into the top half of the first round Hunter Dietz feels very firmly like a Kantrovitz pick.  You've got some helium, you've got a lengthy injury history, you've got the Arkansas factor.

I noticed Jaxson Wiggins' brother is in this draft. do they compare at all?

Carson Wiggins can hit 100 and had TJS at Arkansas - they’re practically twins.

(I think the Cubs would gladly draft Carson in the 2nd round.)
