So Eli Morgan sticks, as does Gage Workman. Brujan probably gets DFAd in 10 days barring other injuries. I wonder who gets the boot now for Keller. My guess would be Hollowell.

And irrationally happy to see Keegan clear waivers. Maybe he'll get another shot later in the season, though that probably would mean things have really taken a turn for the worse.

Brasier and Miller both being hurt at the same time is annoying.

That said until Merryweather and Keller have earned (re-earned in Julian's case) more trust i think all four guys would get similar pockets of hitters.  So I'm actually pretty okay swapping Morgan in at the moment.

Sounds like both injuries are short term.  Hopefully two weeks from now Merryweather's been re-enshrined into the circle of trust and we can more stand slide in one of the ROOGYs.

  • Reliever Ryan Brasier to the 15-day IL
  • Reliever Keegan Thompson outrighted to Iowa

Brasier down, that sucks, apparently a hip issue.

Is Nico on the roster?

Because of the weird roster machinations around the Japan series the team never actually had to IL Nico.  So it's sort of a "no news is good news" thing because he'd only be involved in a transaction if he wasn't good to go.

Yeah, I really hope Brujan sticking around on the IL is nothing more than short term insurance for an early season Swanson or Hoerner injury, or Shaw looking absolutely overmatched.  Otherwise, I see no need for him to be here.

Let's hope PCA stays healthy and doesn't run through a wall.  Alcantara looks like he has a hole in his swing for sliders & hard breaking stuff like Morel does.  RHB with big long swings seem susceptible to that.

PCA led the MLB in ST with a 249 wRC+ and hit .500.  He also didn't take a walk and somehow had a batting average higher than his OBP hahaha.  Amaya hit ,500 too.

Cody Bellinger hit .423 with 4 HR.  Tucker/Bellinger regrets LOL jk.

No, I get that. It is just frustrating when owners act like owning a team is a bad investment. I get they can’t spend the money and it is unrealized gains until they actually sell the team. But it is annoying for them to cry broke as their investment gains value at a very high rate. Fact is the Cubs are a major market team. They should spend like kn. Fine if they aren’t with the Dodgers and the 2 NY teams. But they should be top 5, yearly.

We've been dealing with this since Wrigley and more so the Tribune Company when they owned them, don't spend more then needed to keep fans in the seats.

Keep fans entertained with Harry, WF, and a very good player or two and the ballpark will be full. If we win great, if not maybe next year
