I am going to be honest on danger of people jumping on me , but i would have explored trades for Busch .

I think he has some real valué and maybe they could have aquired a SP cheap enough to the point that Bellinger could have been Kept .

Good thing the season doesn't start tomorrow.

They're going to add at least one notable bench bat. And assuming they're hoping to add a couple pitchers shortly.

I don’t think you are wrong to believe Bellinger could put up better numbers than Busch. But I would rather have Busch and almost $40M to add to add someone to the pen and the bench that Bellinger and only $20M to spend. I do think they made the right choice, but I certainly wouldn’t jump all over you for your opinion. It has merit even if I disagree.

It's pretty much what I expected. I'd just rather have kept cody, grabbed Luzardo and Chafin, fill the bench with prospects and called it an offseason.

Yep. They will add a solid bench bat. They have plenty of money for a pen arm or two and still build a decent bench. Assuming they do finish a trade for Luzardo they have over $30M they can easily spend and be under their line.

Yeah if Mastrobuoni and Vasquez are still in contention for a main bench spot then the rest of the offseason went poorly and/or a bunch of people died.

• We've already made a serious upgrade of the backup catcher role, who typically gets the most ABs of any bench position. 
• We probably won't spend the money this way, but for the $24m we just freed up, you could sign Pederson ($14m/year, 151 wRC last year, projected 125 this year) and Randall Grichuk (151 wRC against LHP last year) and come out even salary wise. It's up to Jed to use that money to give us more production than Cody as a 4th/5th outfielder would have, but it's certainly doable.
