The bottom line in this game is that Kerry and especially Ice blew it, but why oh why did Dusty not get someone up in the 8th after Ice showed absolutely no control?

It was a really disappointing outing for Kerry. I expected him to come up big, and he looked terrible. I don't know what else to say about it. He looked plain awful.

I was happy with Kerry until the 6th inning. He had much better control, although it seemed that came with some loss of velocity on his fastball, and his Slider was pretty awesome at times. I was really hoping for a dominant outing tonight but now I am left in a state of doubt. Lets just hope Prior continues where he left off in his last outing tomorrow.

can't believe there is not more flaming about Dusty tonight. the double switch is fine, but the timing is inexplicable. why not wait to do it until after Rusch faces Dunn?

I know, a much better idea is to bring in the guy who's pitched one inning in the past week and a half. he's bound to be locked in and throwing strikes.

and that shortstop, you know, the three hole hitter who we are counting on who finally put some decent swings on the ball the past couple games, let's let him ride some pine. wouldn't want him to get in a groove or anything.

Nomar was sick.

Gotta tip your hat to that. That was some kind of ballplaying.

Thanks for nothing, dude. :stone:

they said nomar was sick, and that he almost didnt even go to the park. but leaving ice out there to die was brainless, no question.

Does anyone else find it utterly hysterical that dusty said hairston would play 2nd every day apparently because dusty planned to play neifi at some other positiion every game?

I'm convinced now Dusty plays by his own rules. He'll go with the righty/lefty matchup religiously to get Macias out there. Then the L/R comes around tonight, and he refuses to take out Hollandsworth for Dubois, despite doing the same thing after Dubois had been doing well in that game(Holla was doing well last night too). Just stick to something Dusty.

Why did'nt Dusty take down Burnitz for Dubois last night when Larussa went to the lefty reliever? Thats what I want to know.. Dubois will get very little to no playing time while Dusty is managing. Dusty is.... well I just leave it alone.

In the 8th, brining in Remmy aganist Larry Walker who has a .400+ something batting average aganist him. End result? Homerun.

Nice work Dusty.

Here's a new slogan.

In Dusty we Trusty, we're busted!

8/18 .444/.565/.722 1 HR (now 2). Those were Walker's numbers against Remmy. So what does Dusty do? He takes out Wuertz, who was cruising, and replaces him with a pitcher who has consistently struggled against lefties his whole career, and has especially struggled against Larry Walker.

Absolutely mind-boggling.

C'mon man, that Wuertz boy dude man hasn't got the experience, man. Remmy, man, he's been around, dude.

And then Fox comes in and one batter later, strikes out lefty Edmonds. Shocking!!

And another great decision by Dusty to pitch to Rolen with first base open while Grudz was up next.

Unbelieveable.

Macias is on deck in case the bases our loaded in the 9th :(

That move alone warrants immediate dismissal.
