I'm unsure of what 1b experiment you think Owen Caissie has ever had; he's logged zero innings at 1b in his MiLB career He's played more CF than he has 1b..People have suggested down the road he might be a 1b, but he's not a 1b yet. With that said, Cody Bellinger is more than capable of playing 1b so sitting Busch just means Bellinger slides to 1b and Caissie takes RF.

I don't think sitting on the bench even for a few weeks at the end of the year matters though. PCA isn't worse off for it, neither is Canario. 20 or so PA's don't make differences. So even if Caissie started 4 times, the experience would likely be no better or worse for him long term.

Honestly, I feel the same way about the outcome of playing the last couple of weeks, or not playing much.  I personally have seen the current players play for some time now.  From a selfish standpoint, I'd just like to see some young guys play at the major league level.

Yeah I mean, like I've said twice before...their careers will likely be no different. With that said, I think there's benefits for getting a jump start, even if it's mental for the offseason and the start of 2025.

The Cubs aren't going to the playoffs.

Not with that attitude they won’t.

So you're telling me there's a chance?

Yeah, win 16 straight, go in as a high win wildcard team, play with as much dumb luck as humanly possible in the postseason to make the World Series….. and then show the world that that the Cubs don’t belong in the WS by getting the horsefeathers kicked out of them by a good team, like last years D’Backs.

Easy, peasy.

Right, you are. I couldn’t be a mathematician.😄

In all seriousness and without actually thinking the postseason is a possibility, I see this team topping out at 81-83 wins.

Boog and JD? What's the special occasion?

Boog told JD earlier than his mom is happy he’s back. She knows.

PCA and Amaya haven’t been easy outs for a long time. Crazy how much a lineup can improve when the 8-9 hitters are hitting like middle of the lineup hitters for the most part.

Jacob Wilson’s batting stance is like if Jerry Lewis played baseball.

So annoying to look at, but with those milb numbers maybe hes on to something

That Cody triple shows how fast PCA is. If that was off PCA’s bat, it would have been an inside the park HR. He is just so much faster than most players on baseball.

He just passed Corbin Carroll

He's probably north of 50/50 to finish above 4 WAR at this point

I can see 85. They don’t suck. They just aren’t great. A little better than average.

2nd inning and Busch is the only Cub without a hit

Still the only Cub without a hit. Also one just of 3 (w Happ and Nico) to not have 2 hits. And finally one of 2 to reach base less than 2 times (Happ)
