Fields does the head first all the time too. I feel like every football team should have their rookie QBs go have lunch with Jim McMahon, maybe a crazy conversation with him would change their attitudes

Bob Probert's wife talked about his experience with the effects of traumatic brain injuries shortly after his death. She said he could vividly recall games from years past but couldn't remember what he had for breakfast earlier that morning.

Are the Colts bad?  Packers just ran through them like they weren’t even there and everyone knows they are going to run today.

Yeah they’re just standing around.  It’s not just scheme, they have players who shouldn’t even be out there if that’s the effort they’re bringing.

…..and a gift fumble saves them this time.

Indy's run defense is absolute horsefeathers. GB might put up 300 rushing yards.

I lied, 300 is likely too low. They're at 192 rush yards with 12 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. We might be talking about most rushing yards in an NFL game at this point.

New Orleans is running roughshod over Dallas' defense

I didn't think much of them putting up huge numbers against Carolina,  but maybe this NO offense is really good.

Carolina's first first down today came with 4 minutes left in the first half. Bryce Young then threw an interception on the next play. At that point in the game he was 5/7 for 12 yards with that pick. No digits missing. Twelve.

Young's gonna get himself Rosen'd

He would have last year if we hadn't, you know, become the first horsefeathers team in the history of the NFL to trade away the #1 overall pick a year ahead of time.

Said last week that this Kubiak offense was going to unleash Kamara.

Fields looking like an All-star against the Broncos...but the right tackle getting dinged for holding has brought back a lot of deep completions on bonkers highlight throws.

Is he?  Yes, he did make a great throw (after running straight to where the pressure would have been coming from if not for the hold).  We're closing in on halftime and he's got 76 passing yards and his first touchdown of the year.

I unironically think the announcers are skewing people's perceptions of this game. They're giving absolutely glowing reviews to both QBs while nothing much gets done.

Kenny Pickett 2023: 177 total yards per game, 0.6 TDs per game

Justin Fields 2024: 179 total yards per game, 0.5 TDs per game

The formula is the formula

Imagine knowing rate stats exist.  Just imagine.

Like, just to point out how cherry-picked stupid insane this is, in his first two starts for the 2023 season, Kenny Pickett had 76 (!!!  For the STEELERS!!!) passing attempts.  Fields has had 43. Arthur Smith is now the OC, and game script matters.  Apart from the two games Pickett was not able to complete in 2023, Pickett never had less passing attempts than Field's maximum thus far, which is 23.  Not once in those 12 entire games.

To pile on, Pickett had a better QB rating that Fields' worst this far, 91.9, only three times in those 12 games.  And his max rushing output in any game was 17 yards.

So yeah, Fields probably isn't going to be as efficient in games where he's losing than when he's winning, especially on a team like this, but that applies to every QB in the league.  Citing bulk stats is just moronic, and I don't think you're a moron.  You're just cartoonishly married to your priors.  Stop it.

You saw that same play I did that got called back for holding.  Imagine if Love dropped a bomb like that moving horizontal as he threw.  "He's worth every penny!"   He has played well, and better than even the rate stats are showing.  The starting job is now clearly Fields' regardless of Wilson's calf status.

Imagine raging about passing attempts this hard and failing to notice the stat wasn't passing yards.

I did see the play where Fields ran towards pressure and only had the space to make the throw because of the hold.

He hasn't played well at all.  He's led an offense that has produced one touchdown in two games.  The only reason people like you are fooled into thinking he's played well is 1) the Steelers defense is insanely good and can make it hold up and 2) the announcers in that game were determined to gas both qbs up
