PCA is going to be one of those guys that when he gets to the playoffs, he will just simply level up. I wish we could see that this year, but I definitely want to see it happen next year.

It’s pretty damn close. He’s probably slightly over the wall, but definitely not egregious to where I’d expect that to be called.

It's not close at all. That's why no player is trying to claim it was fan interference. The ball is like 4 feet over the wall when it is caught by a fan standing straight up, not leaned over the wall. PCA is no where near catching it, either.

PCA up to a 2.4 fWAR in 344 PA's

.355/.364/.484/.848 in September

Now in a stretch of 150 PA/quarter's season worth of a 149 wRC+ with a sub-20 K rate and a 91 EV. Just immensely surprising in-season development. I have a hard time believing he won't be a leage-average hitter, at least, and feel deep down he will be more in the 120 range in his prime. Potential for being a top 10 position player by fwar is definitely there.

He caught it they don’t need to look at it, but if he didn’t catch it I would’ve def asked for the fan interference.

The first one that was a homerun, it looked like the fan reached over

Ref "fan interference", I believe the fan can play the ball as long as it's not in the field of play.  On the second Edman HR, I don't think the fan reaches over the wall, unlike the last play of the game.

It looked like his arms extended over the wall, but I guess if it were , Happ and or Crow having a better view then us would of pointed it out then.

Yep... It's why the Bartman play wasn't interference.

If touched in front of the wall, it's interference. Behind the wall, not interference.

Pretty simple why that is not fan interference. The ball is not in the field of play when it is touched. PCA is going into the stands to try and make a play on it. There is no fan interference in those situations. Fan interference is called when a fall reaches into the field of play.

They can't reach over the outfield wall, even if they just put their arms over the wall to catch a ball that would not have gone over.

The first one was close, the second one if I'm the fan and my team hit that , I'm interfering with the glove because the ball was clearly over the wall...lol
