Morel's defense certainly hasn't been pretty, but it also hasn't been the deciding factor in any game that I can recall.  I'm ok with continuing to run him out there and maybe with consistent playing time things will eventually click.  I think it's still too early to give up on the experiment and, if you're going to do it, it needs to be all in.  Having him split time between 3B and DH probably doesn't accomplish a whole lot.  I see it as trying to play a bit of the long game - recognizing that playing Morel at 3B might not be the absolute best lineup they can put on the field TODAY, but that it could lead to much better things in the future if he somehow does develop into an adequate fielder.

Yeah, there seems to be a slight uptick in velo here from Wicks. Had been sitting 92-94 (though much more 93 than 94) previously and now seems to sit 92-95 and more regularly in the 94 spot

Whew, always uncomfortable when the ball is hit to Morel, but he handled that well. Looked for the easier out at second and made a good throw to first.

44 pitches through 2 for Wicks. Not ideal. Gonna need to have some efficient innings to spare the bullpen from throwing 4+ innings

Think Gomes messed up a wee bit that inning. Can't believe there wasn't a single changeup tossed with 2 strikes to Urias. That change played well to Raliegh (RHH). Still, on Wicks to not hit him; not an excuse.
