Ohio State has had two cupcakes to start the season and have failed to cover or hit the over in either game.

Big Ten looking strong with 3 of the Top 7 teams, but then Iowa is the only other ranked team

A follow-up post said the move won't be made official until the Title IX investigation is concluded, but that sounds like a formality. He's suspended until then.

Same with Michigan.  Two cupcakes, 2 failed covers.  I don't mind though, I thought they looked fine in each game.  Slightly concerned about the depth as the 2nd team offense has been terrible, and they haven't been running as well, but everything else looks solid.

Alabama is starting a different QB this week. I kind of expected that after the poor play against Texas.

Notre Dame transfer Tyler Buchner. I certainly hope he's the answer, but I have a hard time believing it based on his play to date and the fact that he didn't beat out the original guy in the first place.

I don't care for Alabama, but I have a lot of respect for the way Saban runs his program. These kids come to Alabama and every one of them is a star. He does not care. But the other and more interesting thing is that he's slipping or I should say the system has changed in a way that talent is more evenly distributed across the big time football environment.

He used to be able to rely on talent and his coaching staff to win and now that's not as pronounced an advantage as it once was.

Why do you hope he’s the answer?

Gus Johnson has lost a step as an announcer. PSU has made two interceptions, and it's taken him a solid 5-7 seconds to call it.

*pass is thrown*

*PSU defender intercepts*

*PSU defender starts running upfield*

*PSU defender starts fighting off tackles*

GUS: "Interception!"

Setting up to be a great day for the state of Iowa.

Also, Idaho has been pretty impressive. Blowing out Nevada last week and now up 17 against Cal.

This season has been expensive for me so far.

Tyler Buchner benched after doing nothing for a quarter and a half. I have no idea what's going on in Tuscaloosa.

I think the portal has really hurt them.  They used to have 5 stars on the bench waiting for their turn, now they’re gone in two years.  Plus they’ve really had a brain drain in assistant coaches that’s hard to replace year after year.

i'd like to take your word for it but i feel like everyone on the bama two deep is a 4 or 5 star just about still?

also, saban tried to hire ryan grubb away from UW to be oc and he turned them down and now i'm getting fantasies about the bears hiring him

I don’t think they’ve got a bunch of 2 and 3 stars on the bench-they keep reloading on high school recruits.  I just think the days of the 3rd year blue chips waiting their turn are over.

Wow 3 JJ McCarthy INTs, 2 inside the 10 yard line. He had 3 INTs all of last year in the regular season. I guess the rule that I am never allowed to experience rooting for a great QB is still in place

It was until the 2nd half. Now we gotta hope for a single digit scoring game or 2.  Gotta be under 15 at Penn State next week to get back on track.
