That not good..

12 ip 10 hits 3 walks 6 runs

I'm not going argue about 12 innings, but he's been fine in the bullpen and was about 3 inches from being fine tonight.

The Brewers have basically played 'go ahead and try to beat us with solo home runs' against us for the last handful of years and we're always left touting our hard hit rate being superior to theirs. Pretty sick of it.

Entering tonight the Cubs were 13-13 against the Brewers the last 2 years

Hey, we can tout wins and hard hit rates at the same time!

My wife is at the game with her company and is flipping out that Bob Odenkirk is in the suite next to her and sitting literally 5 feet from where she is.

Trying to think of the funniest thing she could shout at him that would resonate more than shooting the finger guns at him or saying “Better Call Saul!” . Maybe “Good thing 24 is the highest number so there’s a cap to how many runs Taillon can give up”

^^ this is why I don’t approach celebrities ^^

Brewers fan friend of mine was saying he'd feel good about this series as long as they didn't get swept. Sucks they totally wet their pants tonight, looked outmatched.

Yeah, I just think the Brewers are red hot right now.  Tough to beat teams when they are playing this well.  I thought we outplayed them in that series in July despite splitting.  Just a bad time to be playing them.

This is a little misleading since 2 of his relief appearances were essentially treated as starts.  As a 1 inning reliever he has 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

The sad thing is that if the Cubs get swept, they are guaranteed to lose all their WC cushion as the Giants (2 GB) and Reds (2 GB) are currently playing a series.  One of those teams is going to win twice to pull even with the Cubs.

My suggested solution is for the Cubs to not get swept.

Well I've got good news, the Cubs haven't gotten swept in 2 months because they are an above average baseball team who have played really really well in the second half.

I'm waiting to see where they're at after the Reds series, with 26 games left, this will give us a little better idea if they have a shot at Milwaukee or just hoping to grab a WC spot

What the hell is Miley doing that's causing all this weak contact? It's so annoying

Staying out of the middle of the strike zone.  I said before the game started he’s the kind of pitcher that gives the Cubs fits.

I could be mistaken but I feel like cutter-heavy pitchers have eaten us up lately.

Here are the Cubs weighted values against cutters since 8/1:

Hoerner 1.5

Wisdom 1.4

Happ 0.5

Morel 0.0

Bellinger 0.0

Amaya -0.1

Candelario -0.4

Suzuki -0.5

Madrigal -0.5

Tauchman -0.7

Swanson -2.5

Gomes -2.9

That seems to be pretty bad. 23rd in MLB in August and slightly propped up by a guy with 20 PA. The Cubs are 3rd over the whole season though. Lately Swanson and Gomes are really horsefeathers it up for everybody.
