Cubs have won two in a row

Today, Hayden Wesneski toes the rubber.  After a rough start he's on a bit of a roll, so he's likely to be extra animated on the mound

Joe Ryan is starting for the Twins.  He's a boring finesse pitcher who gets soft contact, so you know Jed's going to watch with interest

Go Cubs, with 3 in a row

Looks like we're in for a lengthy delay

I had a pretty solid "Brock is a raging moron" moment 15 minutes ago when it was pouring at my house and I flipped on the game, only to be surprised it was under a rain delay.

Bellinger seems to be in a bit of a slump the last ~10 games or so. His K% has gone up a bit and not walking as much. Seems more like an “ebbs and flow” type of downturn more than  a “reverting to 2019-2021” Bellinger.

2 observations:

1. I’ve always loved the Twins’ tri-colored T-C helmets.

2.  I don’t know how good Wesneski is going to end up being, but he is quite clearly at minimum a legitimate MLB-quality starting pitcher. The fact that the Cubs have 5 more years of team control for him and all they had to give up was Scott Effross is absurd.  A complete steal by Jed.

I would love to see the run expectancy for a team with 1st and 2nd and 0 outs and what the Cubs average this season.  It seems like getting the first 2 batters on is the kiss of death for the Cubs.  Can’t waste back to back hits from Barnhart and Madrigal lol

He won’t be a starter unless he can find a way to get lefties out or at least limit their SLG.

Yeah. I jinxed him pretty hardcore there, didn’t I.

I'm not at all completely convinced he's an MLB starter.  He might be, but he certainly hasn't proven it.

Hosmer getting ejected after complaining about a called 3rd strike that was a strike (albeit presented poorly) is pretty Hosmerish
