CK has been great lately but is there enough of a difference in him from him his less recent past to note him as "resurgent?"  Anyway, hopefully CK fails today.

This game is the first game this this year I’ve watched on TV that was at Wrigley. All the ads everywhere you look on the field is really distracting and tasteless.

That's not really anything new, but just wait until they are on the jerseys too.

I remain nonplussed as to why Luis Torrens is here

I haven't really seen enough of him to develop a strong opinion.  He might be an ok baseball player in the right situation, but the part that makes it weird is how the Cubs went out of their way to keep him on the team despite it clearly being a non-optimal fit for their roster.  It feels almost like he is a Rule 5 guy that the Cubs are trying to stash on the bench to avoid losing him.

Related - Matt Mervis got 3 more hits today.

Feels like Max Muncy is gonna set a record for assists today. Everything going right into his glove.

3-4 against the Dodgers isn't hypothetically bad, but also kind of sucks to lose 3 of 4 to them despite outscoring them for the series.

Nevermind now they’ve evened us in RD for the series. Still have outscored them by 6 in the season series

Just looking at the schedule and while it gets easier in June, it’s still filled with tough games through July.  The run of easy games doesn’t come until late August which is either too late or perfect timing depending on whether the Cubs are sunk by then

Starting Aug 18

KC, DET, PIT, CIN, SF, ARI, COL, ARI, PIT, COL

but before that run there’s pretty much no stretch of more than 2 series between playing good teams.

That is a really amazing stretch of likely winnable games.  I guess it makes sense though that it had to come sooner or later. Ignoring the A's, I keep looking at the upcoming schedule and thinking "When do the Cubs get a break from playing all these good teams?"
