Look he's definitely still struggling with a few things but getting the 5 run lead has allowed Wesneski to calm down a bit and just pitch and the results have been better.  Seemed to lose his command in a bit in the 5th but pitched out of it.

Mancini is so bad right now. Maybe you want to let him work through it, but move the guy down the lineup at least.

I believe in him enough to let him work through it, but something has to give between Mancini and Hosmer at 1B.

On one hand, yes, but on the other hand, I like having Wisdom down there to give a power threat at the bottom of the order.

Tough situation right now. It’s brutal.

Is it just me or have umps been worse than ever this year?  Seems like a consistent amount of bad calls, many blatantly bad.

Yeah it feels like you’d have such a large drop off after Wisdom if you moved him up. But you’re essentially wasting the 5 spot right now.

OK that was a really nice inning by Wesneski.  At 76 pitches through 6...risk having him go another, or let him leave feeling good about himself?

This is the Wesneski we all expected. I know this is essentially a minor league team, but it’s a large improvement from the first couple innings.

At only 76 pitches, send him back out there.

I don’t know if everyone is getting the same commercials I am, but there’s never been a song that deserved to be turned into a jingle for toilet bowl cleaner more than that godawful Starship song.

17 hits for the Cubs, but only 6 runs lol.  Funny because we had one inning where we were driving in RISP left and right but the rest of the game we've struggled.  Lets see if we can convert in this situation.

Only 3 games last year with more than 17 hits (19, 23, & 23), and they scored at least 15 in each of those games.

If the deal with the devil was that Heyward was going to be not terrible in LA, but Bellinger would also regain his former glory, sign me up for that one.

I would too. However Heyward is only hitting .182 and his OPS is propped up by 3 HRs in 26 PAs so I’m not willing to say Heyward will be not terrible this year.

Which song is it?  I barely pay attention to commercials anymore.  One I do hear a ton now is that Queen song "Cool Cat" which Queen fans tend to call one of their worst.  I guess its really catchy though.

It’s “We Built This City” that the commercial turns into “We Built This Toilet,” which is absolutely perfect for that putrid excuse for Boomer nostalgia that ruined Top 40 radio for the last half of 1985.
