Two wins in a row for the Cubs

They won yesterday thanks to strong pitching and fantastic defense.  It's a recipe for a real

This afternoon, Justin Steele goes for the Cubs. He's a Mississippi boy, a connoisseur of Country Music

Opposing him is Martin Perez, an 11 year vet who finally had his first big year last year and got paid

Against the lefty, David Ross is probably going to start two catchers, which will surely lead to a healthy reaction from the fanbase

I watched a little bit of Perez against the Phillies last Sunday. While he only gave up the one run, he was dangerously close to giving up a hell of a lot more. In 5.1 inn8ngs, he gave up 8 hits and 3 BBS. Made some good pitches when needed and was bailed out twice with a DP.  If I recall, the ump was pretty generous with the corners.

I guess good pitchers are the ones that get out of jams with minimal damage, if any.

Haha Cubs score a run on a infield single (possibly could have been called an error), error, balk and groundout

And still no runs out of it. Sigh.

Anyone but Yan Gomes and it’s 2-0 without a single hard hit ball (maybe Bellingers was)

Well that called third on Nico was complete crap

The Rangers have given the Cubs 2 extra outs today, so the umps are just evening it back up

Just realized the Cubs are last in baseball with 4 home runs so far this year. Can’t even remember all 4 HR. Happ hit one, Wisdom hit one, Bellinger hit one. Can’t remember the 4th.  Also 28th in total bases.

The team with the most HR so far are the Rays with 18. It’s like we’re playing different sports lol

edit: also I realize the Cubs have played 1-2 games less than everyone team except the Reds
