Vikings expected W-L through 16 games is 7.56-8.44.

12-4 and a negative point differential is amazing.

They're likely first round playoff opponent is NY Giants, who after today have an even point differential.

I mean they'll still wipe the Bears, but damn.

Yeah they’ve got weapons and I think they can play good football, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see an early exit from the playoffs.

I can't believe this is the team they put on the field with Justin Fields. I know there were trades and a bunch of injuries to solid players, but this organization is really potentially gonna horsefeathers up another QB, aren't they?

They’ve wasted his first two years and it won’t be hard to waste the 3rd.

Vikings currently a 1 point favorite over the Bears. Odd.

They are thinking the Vikings will rest?

Colts are initially a 3 point favorite over the Texans.

Broncos are 3 point dogs to the Chargers.

Cardinals are 13.5 point dogs to SF.

Hoping they put Bears/Vikings at noon so the Vikings don’t scoreboard watch SF and pull anyone. Doubt it’ll come to that, but the 1 point spread has me confused.

They've been given a motorcycle when they haven't even learned how to ride a bicycle yet.

We'll have to see of course. Yesterday has to give anyone pause. It was a Packers team playing for their season and with a good QB and trending up. All teams play for their season in the playoffs. On the other hand, some of the things that caused that game to snowball (special teams, tipped INT return for TD) might not happen, and their OLine was almost immediately crippled too.

That trade for Claypool keeps looking worse and worse. The concept of overpaying financially simply to compensate overpaying with draft capital is not out of the realm of possibility.

If he underachieves again next year, that's the position Poles put himself in.

I'm not so worried about the Claypool trade itself. On the surface, it was a good idea. They figured out Fields was the guy, and they added him a weapon to help him develop this year who was also controlled thru next year. He's a WR, who in theory, fits to Fields strengths as a guy that wants to throw the ball down the field. I'm fine with the trade itself considering what else was out there and who else was going to get him if the Bears weren't.

The issue is that he put himself in the position to need to make the trade due completely ignoring the WR position early in the draft. Everyone wanted Pickens. He's a similar big, downfield WR. He's also a great blocker, which this team has prioritized at WR. And then they go and trade for a guy that became expendable because of Pickens.

And basically, Poles' approach to last offseason will have him chasing the same damn things he needed when he took over the job. This is the same thing that doomed Pace and many other Bears regimes.

yea, I'm not sure the Vikings are for real or not, I just happened to notice that article just before I read your posts. Side note: a guy a went to grad school who grew up in Wisconsin and is obviously a Packer fan, yet resides in Minneapolis took to FB to lambast the Viking faithful on how GB has been "exposing frauds since 1919". Now that is a team I want exposed early and often...

The QB rushing record would be nice to have. But I know Justin doesn't give a horsefeathers about that. He's running out of preservation instead of design most of the time. But it would be one positive to take away from this disaster of a season.

Spoiler tag for how much I care about rushing record.

Vikings Bears at noon so that helps.

Nfl helping Green Bay by giving Detroit a possible meaningless game.

Playing playoff spoiler for a division rival is never meaningless. Especially for the kneecap biting coach.

I'm surprised they didn't stick with Jags-Titans, since that game definitely has meaning to both teams. However, there is a slim chance that Jacksonville would have a playoff spot wrapped up by Sunday evening regardless. Got to figure Seattle is a heavy favorite to win the afternoon game, though, which would eliminate Detroit ahead of the game.
