What a lousy slate of games

College football needs to figure out a way for there to be two or three big regional games each week. I know a lot depends on what happens, but USC vs UCLA is the only game worth watching the entire day.

Not that it really matters but the A&M-UMass game is not a streaming only game. It will be on SEC Network. Will anyone actually watch is another story.

I sometimes like to revisit the AP preseason polls when we get late in the season

1 Alabama (8-2, #8)

2 Ohio State (10-0, #2)

3 Georgia (10-0, #1)

4 Clemson (9-1, #9)

5 Notre Dame (7-3, #18)

6 Texas A&M (3-7, NR)

7 Utah (8-2, #10)

8 Michigan (10-0, #3)

9 Oklahoma (5-5, NR)

10 Baylor (6-4, NR)

Florida vs Vanderbilt is on the network proper at the same time. A&M is on the ESPN app, but if you get SEC Network you have access to it.

I sit corrected. Jimbo has turned this program into an even bigger dumpster fire than I realized. I cannot remember the last time we had a game that wasn't televised.

It's not because A&M stinks - the new ESPN/SEC deal gives ESPN the right to put one (cupcake) game a year for every conference team on ESPN+. Bama and Mississippi State also have their ESPN+ games this weekend, most of the league had them in September.

What a horsefeathering stupid deal. Sick of this streaming crap. The other day I tried to put a Dayton game on tv for my wife (her alma mater) and it was streaming only. Xfinity’s espn app was broken and wouldn’t play the game, so I pulled it up on my phone and attempted to cast it to my tv and that wouldn’t work either. After 10 mins of trying I gave up and decided to watch something else.

I'm with you 1,000%. Only TNF game I will watch all season was the Bears game. The ESPN+ feeds were all jacked up last week when I tried to watch a college basketball game. A glance at Twitter showed it wasn't a me issue, it was widespread.

You probably know this already, but the B1G's new TV deals that start next year include a handful of football games and a lot of basketball games on Peacock. Michigan specifically isn't gonna be dealing with too much of that, but that's the world we're in now.

Yeah I'm aware. They also have a steady stream of basketball games that are on BTN+ only, which is a paywalled streaming service that is not available to people who get BTN with their cable package. If you only want to watch games for your school the price is $10 a month. If you want to watch everything its $15 a month. There are other non-revenue sports on there and archived games but its a rip off to me. Luckily Michigan only has 1 game on BTN+ this year.

For a solid decade we were in the golden age of live sports and had access to almost everything we ever wanted if you had an inclusive enough cable package. Then college conferences started breaking off into their own networks and my cable provider doesn't carry the ACC network, so occasionally an exciting game is on that I cant tune into. Then streaming started plucking away games from all the sports onto various platforms. Now networks you already pay for are putting games on a separate paywall. shameless greed.

pretty predictable after Illinois last set of downs on offense

In addition to perhaps, the worst punter in the Big Ten, if that clown could have managed a halfway decent punt not giving Michigan the ball at midfield they may have won.
