Mervis went into yesterday’s game hitting .133 with a .635 OPS in the AFL. After his 3 XBH yesterday and HR to start today, he’s up to .273 and 1.229.

If the 2020 draft had been a full one, and Hoyer had taken this dude in the 6th round (as he recently said would have been the case) I feel like we would be talking about him very differently. The fact that he was a NDFA seems to make people reluctant to assign legitimacy to his performance. He has a great eye, easy power, and seems like he can hit velocity and off-speed. Dude's gonna be an all-star next year.
