Gonna have my popcorn ready for the beatdown in Austin.
I think I read somewhere that this is only the 3rd non conference road game in the Nick Saban era at Alabama

They usually play a big time neutral site game to start the season, I believe. It's not like they've been scheduling nothing but non-conference cupcakes.

"Neutral" as in scheduling a northern / western team to play somewhere in the deep south?

I mean, except for all those National Title games, yeah. (Kidding, I know what you meant.)

A lot of teams this week get a opportunity to show something.

Tennessee/Pitt

Baylor/BYU

KY/Florida (game of the week)

Also, aTm should win, but I’m very interested to see how that App State game plays out.

Neutral as is not on campus.

2021 they played Miami in Atlanta.

2017 they played Florida State in Atlanta.

2024 they are scheduled to play Wisconsin in Madison.

I hate that I'm defending Alabama but is it weak to play a team like Louisville if the game is in Florida? Or USC in Texas?

Yeah, the offense needs to mage a huge leap from week 1 to week 2 for me to have any confidence in this season as a whole. Haynes King did not look overly impressive against SHSU.

It's definitely a lot more fun now that they're playing home-and-homes. And starting in 2025, they have two Power 5 OOC games scheduled every year through 2034 - ND, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Florida State and others. There's also an Oklahoma series in there that will be folded into the SEC schedule.

I don’t care how the game is going, you don’t take 3 points when you can get 7 against Alabama.

Lmao he missed a 20 yard FG. Pain

Agreed. Texas gets the ball in the second half too. If by some chance you get the TD there and drive down for another TD in the second half, that’s massive. Got to take some chances against Bama. Plus they were at the 2. It’s not like you’re at the 10. Go for the TD.

Oh look what happens when Alabama plays a true OOC road game.

Bama’s offense has been awful after the first two drives. And they’ve committed a ton of penalties.

They're definitely rattled.

I was just taking a shot at them since they rarely play anything but home or neutral-site OOC games

Texas about to shock the college football world.

They’ll probably either miss the FG or they’ll make it but Young will drive Bama down for the winning score.

Or you take that sack

Still made it, but SO MUCH TIME left

I thought after the sack the kicker was definitely missing the FG.
