5 straight non competitive pitches by Robertson. Great work.
He got a few calls on pitches that were up out of the zone too. They were lucky to only give up a run. Now to lose (again) in extra innings.

Don't really have a point but does circling the bases prevent Suzuki from catching that bloop? Not suggesting he should have held up but just one of those baseball things.

The Committee To Make Me Hate Baseball has decided that half of Cubs games will end in extra innings knowing how much I hate the extra innings rule

If running 360 feet causes a professional athlete to not be able to get to a ball 20 minutes later, I don't know what to say.

It's not like he didn't run for it - he missed by a couple inches.

As I’ve said before. These new extra inning rules were designed to screw a team that has not been able to hit with RISP for the past decade or so

Wait 'till we find out that Willie was out of the game because he punched the wall and broke his hand.

Yeah I assume it was because they didn't want him catching more than 9 innings, but don't love having to worry about it

With a runner on 2nd and 0 outs, you are expected to score 61.1% of the time. The Cubs have scored that runner just 38.9% of the time in extra innings this year and have failed in 10 of their last 11 extra inning innings

I wonder how much different it is just from extra innings numbers, given the fact that most teams have an army of guys who throw 97+ out of the bullpen, and the fact that the runner starts there and you didn't just give up a leadoff double. I imagine that psychologically there's a least a little difference, and then add in that sometimes your runner on 2nd with 0 outs is there because he hit a rocket off a crappy starter who needs to go 4+ innings, so he's out there without his best stuff and is more likely to give up more hits.
