Pirates are up 1-0 in the 3rd. Steele has struck out 4 of the 7 batters he's faced but the one base runner was a home run.

Discuss. Or don't discuss, it doesn't really matter

Steele has been dong-lucky this year, so I'm fine with the dongs but don't love that he hasn't yet struck anyone out the 2nd time through the order here

Steele actually holding his velo into the middle innings is promising. Like TT has pointed out the data is looking better and better on his front. I've been reticent to jump on the bandwagon because his fastball is usually like 88-89 by the 100 pitch mark, but if he's holding deeper into starts (be it for weather, conditioning, whatever), that alleviates many of my concerns.

Extra innings suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Obviously MLB does not give a rat's ass what I do, but I simply do not watch extra-inning games that aren't the Cubs. I used to seek them out if I ever had time to kill but I have no interest in watching them under the fake-runner rule.

lol that is terrible, if you tag him over the plate at the top of the knee where do you think the rest of his leg is

Yeah, that call was garbage but Heyward has to get the ball out of the infield there. he's just so awful.

Thank God we're not competitive this year because that loss would ruin my night

i'm kind of enjoying the cubs sucking. those last few years where they were good were more stressful than fun. i needed a breather

I'm not sure who is worse. Villar, Heyward, or Simmons

It's insane that all 3 are on this roster and for the most part all playing regularly. It's like they are in a contest to see who can hurt the team more. Villar is terrible offensively and defensively. Heyward is terrible offensively and now below replacement level defensively. Simmons actually provides solid defense but his offensive numbers are inconceivably bad even compared to the other 2.
