Bears hire a guy named Matt as Head coach and a guy named Ryan as GM for the 2nd time in a row. And the GM was actually college roommates with.....MATT RYAN!

some good info in this thread

that is good info thanks.

And I don't really care about what Colts fans think. If you look at Bills boards this week they all cant wait to move on from Daboll and Frazier and some even question McDermott. Fans almost always think that there's a better coordinator around the corner and don't realize how good they have it with the current guys.

Do we know if Joe Brady is even good? How much of his success at LSU was due to Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, CEH, etc being really good? He couldn't last a year as an NFL OC and while you can argue he shouldn't have been fired, he didn't really do anything to elevate Sam Darnold there. Granted, Sam Darnold is terrible.

I think of his brother, then my mind immediately goes to his weird foot fetish, then I get sick to my stomach.

i was just making the ryan joke, to be clear. not sure if those guys actually would even line up philosophically.

Also, I know Hub Arkush would be strongly against a Joe Brady hiring (he totally shot it down when Danny Parkins suggested it a few weeks ago on air) so that's another plus.

I don't know if Eberflus will be a good head coach or not, but I would not be worried about Colts fans reactions. The Colts have had some version of the Tampa 2 for a large percentage of the last 20 years. Watching the soft coverage, the easy completions, and the lack of blitzing while waiting for turnovers gets very old for some fans after awhile.

It's essentially the version of the baseball team that hits a fair amount of home runs and strikes out a lot too. It can be effective, but it can also be very frustrating to watch for too long.

Well, OK, think the Meatloaf thought works better in this case. I can see the whole foot thing making one sick to their stomach.

We're familiar.

But we've also seen it with a legitimate (non-blitzing) pass rush.

I'll make up my mind on this hire after I learn whether it is pronounced as Eh-berflus or Ee-berflus

A-Bear-Plus

bah!

Just kidding, of course. I find that this hire does not make me feel much of anything whatsoever. Best hire an awesome OC, though.

Oh yes, I'm definitely aware :) One of the names the Colts may look at is Lovie actually.

Eberflus never had the pass rush in Indy. Buckner has been great on the interior, but there was never a consistent edge rush.
