I think it's weird, but there's precedent for stuff like that happening, sorta.

i saw it on twitter and i totally forgot the circumstances around lovie's firing when i repeated it so take it with an enormous grain of salt

 

 

edit - fwiw in more anecdotal stuff, just heard a reporter on the score mention that john fox and the team knew it was john fox's final game when he got fired in carolina

I find the odd part to be the Bears firing a coach mid season

I can kind of see the end of the season heads up for a long time coach who's really well respected in his locker room. Fox and Lovie had both coached their teams to Super Bowls and been there a long time.
